How do I transfer a rented movie from itunes 11 to my ipad?

Hi MacDan,
Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
Here's how to transfer a rented movie from iTunes to your iPad:
How to rent a movie from the iTunes Store on your computer

Once the rental is downloaded, you can watch it on your computer or transfer the rental to a supported iPod, iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV (1st generation):
- Connect the device and select it in iTunes.
- Click the Movies button.
- Select the movie, and then click Move.
- After all movies have been moved, click Apply in the lower-right corner of iTunes.
You must be connected to the Internet to transfer a rented movie.
This information from our iTunes Store: Movie rental frequently asked questions (FAQ) document is also good to note:
If you download a rented movie on your computer: You can transfer it to a device such as your Apple TV (1st generation), iPhone, iPad, or iPod if it’s a standard-definition film (movies in HD can only be watched on your computer, iPad, iPhone 4 or later, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV). Once you move the movie from your computer to a device, the movie will disappear from your computer's iTunes library. You can move the movie between devices as many times as you wish during the rental period, but the movie can only exist on one device at a time.
Best,
Jeremy

Does this work for others? I've tried it several times and it never has worked for me. I own a 2012 MacBookPro and an iPad 3.
Tried it for the first time last night and worked like a champ. Older Mac Pro - iTunes 11 to iPad 3.
thx, yet the device isn't showing?
I don't see any good answers on here that cover the HOW TO part. I too want to transfer an unwatched movie rental to Itunes on my computer, but my movie rental is in the Video App on my Iphone 5.
I know it says you can move a movie from Itunes/computere to SOME of the newer devices including the Iphone 5 I believe. BUT no one, even on Itunes FAQ section, is saying HOW you move a movie out of the Video App on Iphone or Ipad, etc - TO Itunes on a computer.
I don't want to try to sync and end up losing the movie in the process. Do I us Icloud somehow to transfer the movie? Thank you all in advance for any instructions :-) or links to insstructions.
You can do this easily by connecting your iphone (I have an iphone 5s) to your desk/laptop, open iTunes, click on your device in iTunes, at the top under the apple logo you will see options such as summary, info, apps, music, movies, tvshows, books & photos. Choose the "Movies" option. You will then see a box that shows "Rented Movies" on the left & on the right you will see "On (your device name)". Click on "move" and your rental will move from your device to "Rented Movies" then click sync at the bottom right corner of the screen. Once the sync is completed, under libraries click movies, at the top under the apple logo click on Rented and BAM...there is your rental 🙂
Itunes is the worst piece of crap Apple has made.
Nothing is intuitive.
To transfer a movie from Macbook to iPad is impossible.
I went looking on the internet to find a solution to same problem. Things isn't getting easier with new MacOS Mavericks & Yosemite & new iOS – and old how-to explanations (f)lying around. You're looking at a rented video you want to move from Mac to iPad and you're thinking... there's no button, no menu items... no nothing & no hint. How the ****... Ohhhh — things are hidden until you start dragging things. This is easy if you know it... hard when there's no hint.
Anyway... didn't work for me... until I reconnected the iPad from the Mac – and then reconnected again... and synchronized (synkroniserede) – wrong words used around this forum doesn't make it easier. But then it worked...
Visible hints... thank you.
You could also opt for the very easy but costly method of buying a program such as iPubsoft iPad iPhone iPod to Mac Transfer. I bought it awhile back when my computer crashed but I still had all my music, playlists, ratings etc. on my iPad.
Screw you Apple. All of my media in iTunes is accessible on all my devices EXCEPT this rented movie that I bought on my laptop now want to watch on Apple TV since I couldn't watch it at the time due to horribly slow wifi in my hotel room. Now it I want to watch it with my family, I need to pay you for another copy. Screw you I'll download it from somewhere else.
Another completely free solution is to use Pic Share It to send the files over Wi-Fi from your Mac to your iPad. You just connect to the iPad over Wi-Fi and drag and drop photos to your iPad.
I've rented a movie on my Windows PC which has Itunes 12.2.1.16 and trying to transfer my rented movie to my Iphone 5 with IOS 8.4.
I want to transfer the movie to my IPhone,
The "MOVE" option doesnt show up anywhere.
Any suggestions?
I was having the same issue tonight and finally solved it by dragging the corner of my iTunes window around to resize the window until the MOVE button showed up. I first saw the MOVE button when I tried to drag the movie across and it appeared on the far right outside the app window. I needed to make the iTunes window a lot smaller to see the button. Worked after that!
The weirdest thing, but I had the same issue. Re-size the window around for a bit and the MOVE button will toggle between showing up, and not.
I have the movie on my pc but unable to transfer to my ipad. What is the solution? Thank you.
