Facebook contacts not syncing

I have recently bought an iPhone 5. I synced my Facebook account from the settings menu to integrate my contact list.it had done so in the first place without any problems.but today while scrolling my contact list i realized that for few of my friends the sync had not taken place although they were in my friend list.thinking of it as a technical glitch i deleted my Facebook account from the settings menu and then signed in again and updated my contact list. But to my horror it failed to do so. The contacts were not synced. In the first place i was able to merge the contacts but now it is not happening.

iPhone 5, iOS 6.1.4

that idea sounds great, but I added my friends facebook email address to my iphone contacts, as well as to the "social media" section, hit update contacts and got nothing. Also added the link to their profile under home page as advised by another person in this thread, and got nothing. Any ideas?

Not particularly, I've noticed this sync process is pretty buggy. Even contacts that are clearly working correctly don't have updated pictures. I would try making sure you have the correct email on file, removing duplicates, recreating the contact, blah blah. No silver bullet here, it seems.

Having the same experience. To resolve this I created a separate app which syncs the Facebook contacts in a separate address book. Just look for: Social Contacts on the App Store.

So it seems no fix yet - I will hope with crossed fingers this can be picked up sooner rather than later.

I have lately noticed an interesting problem where-in it appears facebook is "matching" a few of my iPhone contacts and as a result is somehow creating a duplicate contact record for that person (so now that person is in my iPhone contacts twice. I run windows and sync. locally to Outlook (no cloud, no google, no Exchange server just locally USB to Outlook) and the contacts that are doubled up have been REMOVED from outlook somehow...

Not good...

Has anyone else seen this behavior?
