iPhone to Android iMessage bug fix

I was having the problem when i switched from my iPhone to my Galaxy s4 where people using iPhones would try to text me and it wouldn't get to me because it would be sent in iMessage. Well i asked one of my friends who knows a lot about Apple products and he seems to have found a fix. What worked for me is to open iTunes, then go to account. Once there find the the section "iTunes in the cloud" and the option in there "Manage my devices". You have to go in there and remove your iPhone from the iCloud and that should work, or at least it did for me.

Sorry buddy, as far as I know normally you are way ahead. O😝n that one - support profile s got nothing to do with imessage. It is just old wife's tale.


Check that out and I was told that apple advisors see more info then us regular people.😁

Doesn't work, tried that too. I even tried with Apple on the phone and they provided me the Serial # from the iphone that I had already returned. No dice. Still not receiving any iphone texts as tried with friends at work today. They do get the "not delivered" with red circle that they can click on to "send as text", but a couple of them didn't even know you could click on the red circle...and these are kids with much more Apple experience than mysefl. A ridiculous glitch that Apple needs to fix, but I won't hold my breath.

They do not need to click anything, they just need to go to settings and messages and enable send as SMS option there. Instead of not delivering it will send correctly. Unless they just do not want to pay for SMS or send you messages...

Support profile does have a link to iMessage. I've tested it myself, and seen it work. Ideally, when you will not be using an iPhone anymore, you should make sure to turn iMessage off, then erase the device. The other steps listed previously also have positive effects... in some cases.


There is no 'magic bullet'. It works properly most of the time, but sometimes it doesn't. You can take every step listed here, and still have to wait. I agree the iMessage system should be improved, but the support profile option is a valid step, in many situations. Please don't discount it as an 'old wives tale' out of hand. It is one of many POSSIBLE resolutions.


Also, Apple Advisors do have access to more information in those articles than the public, as well as articles that the public never sees. Every company has internal information that never gets out to the public, for one reason or another.


And finally, thank you, in regards to the wi-fi greyed out thread.


P.S. The 'Send as SMS' doesn't always work in these situations, moving from iPhone to non-iPhone. Sometimes it gets 'stuck' in the iMessage server anyways.

The solution for this issue is to call 1-800-MYAPPLE and say you need to deactivate your imessage after updating to an non-apple phone since your iPhone friends cant send you messages. They will do the needed steps to remove your number from the iMessage system which after initiated can take a couple hours up to a day. If that does not fix the issue then your contacts are not sending to your phone number and or need to start a new conversation with you. If that does not help it then you are not doing it right or they are not sending to your phone number. The advisors see much more than us consumers can as with most articles which are internal only and even if released to public would not help anyone because you have to have access to their internal systems.

I am going to jump in to the fray despite my better judgement. I had an iphone because I wanted to see what all the hoopla was about. I tried and do not want to continue with iphones. I do not need to be insulted for my taste in phones. I came here looking for help. Instead you are acting like the jerky jocks you usually despise and are ill treated by. oohh I see you are nothing better than itelligent bullies looking for a place to exact some payback. I think the reality is that my friends should not have to go through all types of gyrations to try to send me a text message. And I should not have to do some techy limbo to get said text messages.

Fot the record this was not a problem before the God send of IOS7 which made iphone look more Android land. Which just proves that rivalry is good because it keeps both systems on their toes trying to improve and keep their customers happy for the most part.
