iOS Certificate Pending Generation

So I'm completely new to the iOS Developer Program and am trying to get a certificate so I can test my app on my iPhone. I followed the steps I found in the App Distribution Guide and requested for a new certificate in XCode. When I did this, it didn't complete the whole process, instead, in the Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles page in Member Center, it says that my certificate is pending generation. What does this mean? I'm sorry, but I'm completely new to this and have no idea what is going on.

Seems to be a problem with Apples certification creation at the moment. I think we have to wait a couple of minutes / hours until they get rid of this problem.
