Why two Send boxes in Mail App ?

I sometimes get confused: where is my sent mail ? there are two Sent boxes.
One under Mailboxes and one under Gmail

I never know when the sent mail appears on one or the other.

The Outbox will only appear in the sidebar when you have a message to send out stored in it. If you deley sending, or it fails to send for whatever reason, the message will go to the outbox. Once the message is sent, if it stays in the sidebar, it will disappear again if empty on Mail's restart.

The same behavior apply for an empty draft folder in Mail's main mailboxes.

Now I have the following settings

Gmail / Setting / Labels / Sent Mail / Show in Label List; IMAP is not ticked (thus not show)
What do I see in Mail ?
That Sent Message folder which is absolutely useless since it does not display the recipient at all
It displays only the sender which is me, a completely redundant information

Sending a mail will not show up in any of the two Sent boxes

So the problem is not solved. And now I realize I will never understand this.

I've been struggling for weeks with it and thought I had a grasp of it but now again, lost all control.
