About Upgrading to Apple Mac OS X Mavericks?

ok I Heard Apple Mac OS X Mavericks is gonna be out in Fall or Summer but I Was not able to see The Apple Keynote Event today cause I Had to take My Grandmother to get her hearing Aid fixed today & I Was working for 2 hours today this morning & I Just got home & I Did see the Video of The Apple Keynote Event on My Apple iPhone 5 64GB But I Could not watch the Whole Thing cause I Was out today, i saw a little bit of it so I Had a question

Will Apple Mac OS X Mavericks work on My 2009 iMac Computer? or this is as far as i'm going?, what they say at the Event? did they mention there not gonna be Supporting the 2009 iMac Computers anymore? I Really wanna know that part so i can save my money for another Apple iMac Computer. 🙂

or maybe you guys don't know anything? if so? sorry i posted this 😟

Apple hasn't said anything about Mac OS X Mavericks compatibility, so we don't know which computers will work. With this, I understand that all Macs compatible with OS X Mountain Lion are also compatible with Mac OS X Mavericks, or Apple will release the list of supported computers later

You should be able to since you have lion or later, but apple has not told us anything about that yet.

if i install the developer preview of OS X Maverics, then will it update itself from bugs or will i have to install a fresh copy every time??

You should not be discussing anything about a not yet released OS in an open forum as you are violating your NDA - if you have a legitimate copy as a developer, you should be asking your question in the forums provided for you.

Running a certain OS is no assurance that a newer OS will support that particular hardware. There are machines in use today which support Lion, but not Mountain Lion.

Good news, your imac is indeed supported and if you didnt already know is a free upgrade from the app store.

As far as support, since your iMac is more than 3 years I would consider yourself luck that apple is including old hardware apart of there update. That being said, I just purchased a new iMac (27inch) and compared to my 2011 Macbook Pro, it OMGWTFBBQ fast. I would recommend highly that you invest into new hardware, not only would you be getting a brand new refreshed iMac for 2013 but you would enjoy a better overall experience with the new operating system.

Also if you buy a new Mac, iWorks is included for free.

I was running OS 10.6 Snow Leopard. I spent most of yesterday downloading the software and today I installed Maverick. It took a long time but my IMac runs faster than ever. My mouse works a little different and some things work a little different but so far so good. I'm glad I did the upgrade.

Good to hear, but you do realize that you're responding to a post that has been inactive for a year. Mavericks lifespan is almost end of life now.
