802.11ac technology for a MacBook Pro.

Will the MacBook Pro be able to do an update to include 802.11ac technology, or will you have to buy a new MacBook Pro when 802.11ac is available?

I abhor your particular conservative, pro-planned obsolesence mindset probably as much as you do ifixit guides. It's a perfectly reasonable question to ask whether there might be options for upgrading the wifi/bluetooth board in a pre-2013 rMBP without having to fork out €2-3k+ for the new model.

I specifically bought the last mid-2012 unibody MBP (along with the APP) for the very reason of not having to rely on Apple charging me extra for whichever particular upgrades (RAM, SSD) or repairs once the three years warranty is gone.

"integrated component of the logic board and not something you can just swap in or out"

"highly unlikely that anyone will actually now or in the future make an upgraded 802.11ac part"

"believe what you will" …indeed. Just wow.
