Unlocked Motorola SLVR and iSync & bluetooth - Solution found!

Hello Mac users!

I have scowered the web looking for a solution to the unlocked SLVR not working via bluetooth with isync. It's called firmware people! In order to get BT working on your unlocked SLVR you will need the following firmware :

R4513 G_08.B7.DCR_RB_PDS015_LP0024_DRM0101_JPJAVA_G_08_L7_05_00_07R_GSTL7T675NL1311FF.shx

You will also unfortunately need a PC and a usb cable as well as other software.

I've done and tested this. My phone also had this problem i just kept on installing the flashes until one tested right. WARNING THIS IS NOT FOR CINGULAR BRANDED OR LOCKED PHONES. THIS WILL ERASE YOUR ITUNES ON YOUR PHONE.

My phone was a german branded phone but now its just a plain jane motorola slvr.

Thank god! I was wondering when this was going to get sorted out. I've been scouring the forums for days already. I have

R4513 G_08_B7.DARRB

UK T-Mobile SLVR L7.

The bluetooth doesn't work at all with my mac, and I wanted to clarify (before I potentially brick my phone) that you were having the same problem I was:

OS X is seeing "no supported services" at all for the phone, and that you can't send files to the phone at all. (This is the bluetooth stack query problem).

If I upgrade to the DCR_RB firmware, will this fix the problem? I thought that the only phones that worked at all with OS X over bluetooth were the US Cingular branded SLVRs.

I am not a T-mobile uk user. I just happen to have that similier firmware on my phone. I started off with good firmware but upgrade the firmware to the uk verison. I was supposed to gain other functionality which I wont get into, but that didn't happen and thats when I noticed my BT and isync was crippled. I reverted to the firmware I mentioned and now it works fine.

Yes! This worked. All that I lost were my messages, I'd backed up my numbers beforehand via usb. All that's different is that there's a line 1 logo at the top of the main screen, and the 'select' & 'back' keys have swapped sides. The bluetooth works! Very happy. Also there's the subsidy code thing at startup, but I can just skip past it, but I'll probably get P2k commander to get rid of it. Thanks Carlos!

Nick, I realy appreciate the fact that you spent your time fixing a problem you weren't supposed to fix, but let me tell you that Apple's attitude is unacceptable. The fact is: If we had Windows this would work. So, it's Apple problem, and they should be working on this. I've a Motorola SLVR L7 phone locked to Vodafone and I don't know if flashing the phone is even legal. And what makes me even more angry is their indifference: I've seen a lot of people with the same problem and, until now, we didn't get any "official" answer from Apple support. They simply tell you that "your phone is not supported". Are they kidding?

This isn't the first time I've got troubles with Apple, and I must say that I'm getting a little tired of the "everything works on a Mac" idea they try to sell, because it couldn't be falser. Potential buyers should be aware of all the problems they'll face and, of course, of the fact that they will have to manage themselves how to fix them. Because I start to think that this is what having a Mac is all about...
