PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-111D Burning?

I just installed the PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-111D and have it playing my cd's and DVDs just fine, however, I can't seem to burn DVDs. I noticed this is a popular model and would be greatful if anyone could flip a solution my way.
I'm using 10.3.9

G4 466Mhz 512Mb, Mac OS X (10.3.9)
