Will Migration Assistant for OS 10.4 and OS 9.1 replace the OS and files?

I have 2 PowerBook G4s which I have used for different purposes. One has OS 10.4 and the other has OS 10.4 and OS 9.1. I would now like to replace everything on the one with only 10.4 with the stuff on the one that has 10.4 and 9.1.

Can I use Migration Assistant to replace everything including the system so that I will have both 10.4 and 9.1 on both computers (both computers will mirror each other)?

OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4)

Migration Assistant moves only select files.

Target disk mode.

If you have a second Mac computer, you may want to try to copy over as many files you can. One way is to use target disk mode.

Here is a picture of a firewire port:

You need cloning software.

Carbon Copy Cloner will copy your startup drive to an external firewire drive. You can boot from the external drive to verify that you have a good clone. When you upgrade your existing startup drive, you can at any time boot from your external drive and go back to your existing system.

SuperDuper is the wildly acclaimed program that makes recovery painless, because it makes creating a fully bootable backup painless. Its incredibly clear, friendly interface is understandable, easy to use, and SuperDuper's built-in scheduler makes it trivial to back up automatically. And it runs beautifully on both Intel and Power PC Macs!
