In Iphoto, How can I delete photos on my iphone that have already been imported?

I've just spent over the hour on the phone with my sister (who has a law degree, I have an engineering degree), and we could not figure out how to delete photos from our iphones that have already been imported into Iphoto. I thought Apple was the company that made things easier??? This is a nightmare.

The way it should work:

- Launch iPhoto

- Stand on iPhone (Under Devices)

- Select photo to delete (under Already Imported)

- Right-Click Delete (or Send to Trash, or Something)

Obviously we are not thinking like Apple thinks...does anyone know how to do this, or are these programs as crap as they seem and you have to go back to your iphone and select each photo one at a time (all several thousands of them).

Don't even get me started on how messed up my photo libraries have become now that I have (fully) switch over to Apple.

By the way, I like my Mac for everything else...but its photo capabilities suck.

So let's get this right; you can't right click on a photo in Photos and delete them on your iPhone? How lame is that?

You cannot right-click on your phone. That isn't lame, that is the way it has always been. No matter, photos that have been synced to the phone via iTunes have to be removed the same way, via the sync process. Same way it has been from the beginning. The only photos that you can delete directly from the phone are those in the Camera Roll.

Unfortunately the new Photos app makes this problem even worse, however, there is one other workaround I've found besides image capture. You can re-import the photos (even though they've already been imported) in order to use the "delete items after import" feature, then select the "Last Import" album and delete them all from Photos in order to eliminate the duplicates.

Tried importing, got no "delete afterimport" option, just an error message "couldn't importsequential duplicates" or something like that. I also had 1400 "recent" on iPhone before this import, now I suddenly have 2800…

Since I can delete photos from the iPhone it makes no sense that I should have to import before deleting via Photos / lame sync process.
Edit: tried once more. Still no option to delete. Now have triplicates on hard drive, phone still full. Guess I'll do a full wipe and set up as new.
