Why no Passbook on iPad?
Why isn't there Passbook on iPad, it is a simple app useful on both devices, and bear in mind that not everyone with an iPad has an iPhone.

All anyone here can say is "because Apple didn't include it". None of us here have any insight into Apple'd decisions on such matters. You can comment to Apple on the issue via their feedback page, if you wish:

Regards.
OK, I found a "workaround" for the passbook problem...when u receive your document (movie ticket, flight ticket, starbucks card etc) take a snapshot of your Iphone screen (power button and home button at the same time) this snapshot will end up in your "camera roll" and if your icloud sync is on also be available on your ipad or macbook For folks without an iphone, same thing just take snapshot of your screen and email to yourself...
for the time being this works for me.
Try it!
Cheers
I noticed majority of replies are talking about the "bulky" size of the iPad as a reason for not having Passbook on it.
if that's why Apple didn't include it, then why is it available on Macbook Air?
personally, I believe its very handy to have on all Apple devices and sync via iCloud to all.
I already posted a comment to Apple.

It's not.
It is not available for a desktop OS,
From the Apple site for Passbook:
System requirements
iPhone or iPod touch using iOS 6 or later
I have had a similarly positive experience, but I would like to have the tickets on the iPad too. On the return journey, after a day of use, my iPhone has all but run out of juice but the iPad is still going.

You may also want to consider portable battry chargers for long trips. I'm partial to mophie products but there are lots of other brands.
There is an app called Stocard that will scan all of your loyalty cards and store them. For the cards that will work with Passbook, there is an "add to passbook" button.
I'd just recommend that if anyone uses any third party app that they do their research, make sure that they are comfortable with the company's privacy policy and how their data will be treated and stored.
Well aside from all the negative comments about lugging around a tablet I love my iPad mini, I take it everywhere and no issues. It has everything I need and now that I can use it to make phone calls why can't I have a wallet attached to it?
I'm not worried about identity theft...because that's what having a good bank is for. They can fix anything and really it's no big deal to have a passbook that holds everything.
We should see it soon enough.
Remember when iPhones didn't have half the features they do now, I do....
I only have an ipad because it was a gift and i doubt I will ever have an iphone i do take my ipad if i think I can use it
I read email on the iPad. I would like to add things to passbook while on the iPad, then USE passbook from the iPhone. Isn't that what the Apple ecosphere" is supposed to be all about?

Apparently not as Apple hasn't made Passbookk available on the iPad.

Absurd... riiiiight... you've obviously never had a flat battery on your phone and didn't have time to charge it before an event... I have... there's nothing absurd about carrying an ipad mini around at all.
Also i need it on my ipad now, because then I can scan the passbook to my galaxy note 4 (much better phone than iphone 6) passbook app for android.

I carry a small external battery pack for those situations. Cheaper and lighter than an iPad.

I take my iPad Mini to Starbucks and pay for my coffee with the Starbucks app on the iPad. It is not too cumbersome at the POS. I use my iPhone with the Wallet App for all else.
