Samsung Galaxy S4 Mac Compatability

Hi everyone, I will be getting my Samsung Galaxy S4 tomorrow, and I was wondering if anyone of you who own the Galaxy S4 can tell me how simple it is to transfer music, photos, video, and other media to and from the Galaxy onto the Mac (iTunes, iPhoto, iMovie/FCP, etc). Thanks.

I have had no problems syncing my icloud contacts and calenders with my Samsung Galaxy S4. I use Smoothsync for Contacts, and Smootsync for Calendar and everything flawlessly works. However, due to Samsung being stupid, you have to also download two patches after you download the programs, but they are linked to in the description and instruction section of the apps on the Google Play store.

This is especially important since I have a Macbook and a GalaxyS4 while my wife has a Macbook, Ipad, Iphone, and a work account that is a PC. Everything is synced in our house using these free apps.

Hey guys, also thinking of making the switch from iphone to galaxy s5 (presume my question works for both models). I've got an Imac, Ipad, and iphone... I'm an apple guy for sure! But, not impressed with the latest iphone/software released and Samsung seems to be leaving Apple in the dust for phones. Read the comments and other websites, general consensus seems to be it's possible, but you have to jump through a few hoops. One thing I really like about the all Apple everything is the seamless syncing. Sounds like I will lose that if I switch.

I've got Photostream with iphoto and iTunes Match for itunes which is awesome! Use iCal and Contacts and think that's about all the "syncing" apps I use. It's nice to be able to do something on the phone in those apps and have them be on my computer and vica versa.

I know Photostream capabilities and iTunes match cloud service won't work on the Samsung, but is there a way to sync up my iTunes to my samsung by plugging into the computer, even if it means no cloud music and I have to download to the SD card on the phone? Just want to plug into my computer and sync with iTunes.

Same for iPhoto... plug into computer and import to iPhoto just as I would with my iPhone or Canon/GoPro cameras.

iCal would be nice too so I don't have to enter Calendar info twice (computer and phone).

Thoughts/Opinions???

MAVERICKS DILEMMA

Gidday - Just been given a Samsung S4 as a work phone and am now going throught the Mavericks dilemma.

My Mum lucked in got my iPhone as a present..anyway...

I have Mavericks running on all our Macs including this one - MacMini.

Download and install:

NTFS-3G 2010.10.2

OSXFuse 2.6.4

If KIES is already installed it should now work otherwise download and install

Smartswitch for Mac will allow you to backup your iPhone/iPad if you have one and cross load Contacts, Notes, Multimedia and phots across to your Samsung if you want.

That was it for me - all works having just completed it myself and wanting to share.

All the best - love my Apple stuff.

My Samsung is chaos, although it now looks like my iPhone.
