iPhone 5 issues with 2013 Honda Civic (LX)

So I have these two top-of-the-line pieces of technology and they don't even work with each other without causing pain-in-the-butt glitches. There seems to be a plenty amount of articles involving the iPhone 5 and new cars, but hopefully with some detailed descriptions of my issues, I can provide some clues in on the source of the problems, and hopefully receive a fix.
These issues are some of the personal issues I've observed and are described in order of their time of their appearances.

  • When already plugged in, music may play through the connecter dock but then stop shortly after the car ignition (around 10-20 seconds). Two options I've found are to either exit and re-enter the USB auxillary - which doesn't always work-, or to simply switch to Bluetooth, which provides inferior sound quality along with extra battery drain.
Symptoms include viewing the song "playing" on the i-MID, progressing in its time, but not producing any sound.
  • Siri can not be effectively used through Bluetooth.
  • Songs get derailed and the display information gets matched with audio from the previous or following song. Audio with lengths shorter than the length of the displayed song will finish and the next audio track does not seem to start until the displayed timer is finished.
  • <This is what caused me to finally make a thread about these issues, and the issue I deem most important> Phone starts and appears to call itself with the Bluetooth. The i-MID displays a phone call that is automatically connected, with the information as "My Number - <my actual cell number>." The phone then "plays through itself," which sounds like a normal Bluetooth phone call within the car, and effectively locks the i-MID screen from any other input command. It is often very hard to quit the call or sometimes impossible. Repeated inputs to the "end call" button on the steering wheel yield limited to no response, and sometimes, when it does get terminated, it automatically returns to connect the call restarting the cycle. These things happened as I was driving and were very annoying, distracting, and potentially life-threatening.
  • The voice prompts on Google Maps may forcibly stop the audio stream through the USB dock. I only observed this once so I can't really provide much other than that it happened.

I frequently make deliveries so the smooth integration between these two technologies is very important to me. Being able to use a GPS on the iPhone and have it stream directions along with iPod music when driving was obviously something that your two companies have collaborated on making possible, and it is incredibly frustrating, stupid even, when the two latest piece of technology you two offer don't even work correctly with each other, I've read from another post that Honda does not plan to offer any fixes (not like they really can), so the load seems to fall off to you Apple. Please, don't let this be an issue to sweep under the rug. With the new and increasing technological accomodations allowed in newer vehicles, seamless integration is imperative.

For now, I will faithfully await a fix for this issue.

Thank you.

I was having all kinds of issues such as yours AND those quick replies texts while you drive NEVER work. When I took it into the dealership, they pulled up a page from the tech support online and said this is an ongoing issue that APPLE has to address and has not with the iPhone 5. So until Apple creates a fix for out problems we are just stuck... as usual.. Thanks APPLE! for continuing to GROW and NOT address our issues.

This is the service notice that I was finally given at Norm Reeves Honda. They and Honda Corp said there were no fixes and no compensation they could give me. I also have video of the whole radio dashboard freezes and nothing working. Sad company. I will buy no more Honda vehicles until I get compensation for this 3 year problem.
