I changed my appleID and primary email and now I can not access iCloud. ICloud shows my old appleID but I can't change it. How do I get iCloud to work with my updated ID?

I Changed my ISP and therefore changed my email address, which caused me to change my appleID. I had no problems making the changes to my appleID but now I am having problems with iCloud. My old ID is still showing as my iCloud ID and I can not see where or how to change this. I keep getting an annoying pop up box to enter the password for my OLD appleID as well as error messages that I can't back up to iCloud.

CAn someone please tell me how I can fix this so my iCloud works.

THank you!!!!!

I tried everything that was suggested above and nothing worked for me.... I managed to get my MBP working with some of the other suggestions but I couldn't for the life in me turn off the "find my Phone" on my iPhone 6+.. I tried your suggestion regarding making the passwords the same (to new and old apple IDs) and it finally worked and allowed me to turn off the "find my Phone" setting then i simply deleted the account and then set it up again with my new ID .... Thank you soooo much for your suggestion, spent 3 hours jacking with this crap... 3 hours I will never get back.... urrrgggh... but at least I got it to work, thanks to you.... 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂

You need to do the following:

1. Go to Manage your Apple ID and sign in with your current ID and password. EDIT the Apple ID back to the old email address. This is temporary. Do NOT Verify it, do NOT change the password: Apple - My Apple ID

2. Go to Settings>iCloud on your device and scroll to the bottom. Sign out (or Delete) your iCloud account. Follow the prompts and put in your current Apple ID password when asked.

3. Go back to Manage your Apple ID and sign in with your old email address and your current password. EDIT the Apple ID back to your current Apple ID email address. You may have to verify it again.

4. Go back to Settings>iCloud and sign on with your current Apple ID.

You are right this worked!

I logged out of ICloud with my old email and password on my IPhone and answered all the questions. Waited a couple of seconds for it to complete the process and logged in with the new information and now my new Apple ID shows up instead of the old one and everything else is there as it was before. It tells you it will delete cards in your wallet, but I figured it was a small price to pay. My boarding passes were still there. Thanks!!!

Think I've sorted this out now. I also will have to change my ISP soon and so also had to change the Apple ID from the original email, preparatory to if as and when it ceases to work. I didn't know you had to sign out of iCloud on the iPhone first, then sign in to the new ID; eventually I did this (twice! 1st time created a new ID, but that wasn't going to work) signed off / removed iCloud account on iPhone, then, after the new Apple ID email and password etc. all being sorted out on the PC (with iTunes) I added it in iPhone. Success! You have to put in the new ID email then password.

Then upon purchasing a couple of songs blasted iTunes wanted me to change the password again ⚠ because of "Too many attempts to log in with wrong password" (!!?)

What a struggle!

I changed my appleID and primary email and now I can not access iCloud. ICloud shows my old appleID but I can't change it. How do I get iCloud to work with my updated ID?
