cannot startup after update 10.8.4

Hi, I am using MacBook Pro 4.1, so far it is running fine. Just had installed the latest update and restarted couple days ago, it continuously rebooted. I tried to reinstall the OS 10.6. It works fine but the same issue happened once I reinstalled 10.8.4. Could someone help?

MacBook Pro (17-inch Early 2008), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4)
