This is c**p! Absolutely false. You DON'T NEED Compressor for most things.

I have some particular preferences for encoding certain videos and for these I use Compressor where I can create my own customised presets.

However, for the bulk of my exports I use the normal Share presets present in FCP X.

Compressor is a luxury not a necessity.

P.S. My customised presets have nothing to do with improving the quality of the existing FCP X presets . . . they are mainly for saving encoding time on my old iMac.

Most FCP X presets are geared at maximum quality and involve multi pass encoding and high data rates. With my type of video I can get equal quality with customised Compressor presets using single pass which saves processing time.

Hi, I am currently using Final Cut Pro X. I am so use to compressing my video for High Quality. Everytime I share>master file, the quality is not as good as it was in final cut. Will I need to Order the Compressor in order to get a great quality?

IF the quality is not the same then you're doing something wrong. The coded and the processing is identical. Without complete details of your process there's no way to tell what's going wrong. No you don't need Compressor to export the highest quality from fcpx.
