iPhone 4 facetime not working

I have a first day iphone 4 and had tried everything g except factory reset and nothin had worked. Tonight I updated to 7.0.3. Tried FaceTime and it would. It activate. Reset network settings and it's back!

Apologies for terrible typing. I'm in UK on O2. Post should say after update tonight but before network. Reset, FaceTime would not activate.

That's promising news Kevin, even though your problem was somewhat different. Will try 7.0.3 as soon as I get back to the computer I am syncing with, which will be a couple of weeks.. I could upgrade OTA, but always a skeptic >..<

When did iOS 7.0.3 become available? When I check for software updates, my phone tells me that I am current with 7.0.2.

My problem was as the same as on here. Got to connecting stage and then got call failed. After update and network reset all is well.

I just tried update and it was there. Just keep trying.

I checked several times, but still only see the 7.0.2 update.

Kevin, if I understand correctly, your iPhone 4 lost FT capability. You updated to 7.0.3, reset Network Settings and then FT began working again. Is that correct?

You will get the iOS 7.0.3 update OTA when it's your turn. If you're in a rush, try connecting your device to iTunes and checking for an iOS update there.

OMG ITS FIXED!!!!

Apple actually did something about it.

I installed the update. When I went to activate my iMessage and facetime it just wouldn't work. So I followed Kevin's advice about resetting the network settings.

The phone then could not find my wifi network. So I restarted the phone. I connected to the wifi. Managed to activate iMessage and facetime after a couple of attempts and it work :)

One weird thing I noticed was that I entered my password wrong (as I forgot the number) on the iMessage screen but it still accepted it.

Just my luck. My new phone is due to arrive in 2 days (after ordering it 4 weeks ago) and facetime works after over 6 months of problems.

Could you please describe what you mean by resetting the network settings? Do you mean "forgetting" the wifi connection, reselecting it from the list of available connections and re-enter the network key?

Settings-general-reset-reset network settings. Hope that helps.
