Suddenly FaceTime is unable to connect. FaceTime starts and displays the "Connecting..." message. Within a few seconds the "Connection lost" message appears.

Nothing has changed in my WiFi environment. The problem occurs in other WiFi networks. All other network applications work normally (Messaging, eMail, Phone). I have turned FaceTime off/on several times. I have reset my network settings all to no avail. The Apple Store consultant suggested that I erase all content and settings and restore the phone from backup. I hope that I don't have to do this.

iPhone 4, iOS 6.1.3

I am having the same problem with an iPhone 4 ATT that has been updated to IOS 7.


Someone in a different thread reported that FaceTime worked with a Verizon iPhone 4 so maybe it is an ATT iPhone 4 issue.


As have many others I have reported the problem to:

Apple.com/feedback


If enough of us give Apple feedback on this problem maybe they will do something about it.
