ipad stuck on apple logo screen

Hi, dealing with the restore after having the apple logo issue on the iPad. Have done steps 1-4 no problem. Now in iTunes in restore mode, however, it will not move past waiting for iPad. This is more progress than before, although it has stopped. On the iPad it shows the logo with the install line underneath but isn't communicating. Frozen here.

I am very sorry to reply to an old thread but this issue is still following us like a ghost.

Your advice was helpful once. However, now my iPad3 is stuck on "the Connect to iTunes screen" and iTunes does not react to the connection via cable.

So what do I do now? I have bee using this device since 2012 and never purchased the support. (very simply there has not been any need for)

I would be very thankful if someone could provide me with further instructions.

If I do these instructions, what's gonna be happen to my stored files or saved applications inside my iPad? coz' I have the same issue.

Me, too. Followed steps 1-4, and now the only message I get is 'waiting for ipad'. The ipad screen shows the apple and a progress bar, but it's at zero.

Hi, i'm having the same problem and I'm downloading ipad software update as instructed above. I need your help: do you remember during the download ipad's screen was still apple logo? Mine first was connect to itunes then changed to apple logo, is it normal?

Thanks a ton - these steps worked great for me. My IPad went into the funk when I pressed "reset network settings". No clue why. But the Apply logo came up on an all black screen and stayed there - nothing worked. I was able to turn the unit off by holding the home and power buttons - then followed your steps. Thanks again!

This was the advice I needed. No one else specified to hold onto the home button until the iTunes icon appeared. You brought my iPad back to life and my life back to iPad.

Sadly still experiencing this problem on my iPad 3 despite trying all the excellent tips given here. Even iTunes won't recognise my iPad when I connect it to my PC via USB. Is there anything else I can try? I did phone Apple Support but they want a lot of money to even talk to me.

I noticed that if you are using Windows and are getting the (6) error, it may help to open Windows Explorer, when updating your iPad. I think it activates the the connection between iPad and USB port. Also make sure you have logged in to iTunes with your Apple account.

I am having similar issues. I have gone through the iTunes recovery, but the iPad is unresponsive.

Right now, I am unclear if I should unplug the device from my macbook pro.

Any support will be helpful before I make an appointment at a genius bar.

Probably call Apple first and if they can't help take it to a Apple Store

Force your iPad into Recovery Mode.

I am not sure if you still visit this website, but my ipad "died" last night and I tried everything. I was heartbroken. I use it all the time. Today at work I did some web searching and came across your post. I saw that it helped people and I couldn't wait to get home and try it. It might seem silly but I have seen miracles in my life and I consider this one of them. I couldn't really afford to have it fixed.
