exactly why i posted this original thread, as a follow up on Apple's inability (for lack of more appropriate word) to inform their loyal disciples when would be a better time, to wait a while...would even be helpful hint but there was none. i know i bought mine exactly 2 months prior to the X release but regardless, i could have waited. i hold out on buying my new rig for years until i7 came up for iMac so what's the hang up waiting for few more months for a what i most anticipate for my next new album which everyone on my cloud has been waiting on.. but now i have to wait and see what the big hanchos has to decide with it, probably none.

i do know the developers has to feed their families too but the problem is the post-production which is the after-sale care system, if you will. as someone said, this is just a miniscule of what Apple is making out of, why not make your own peeps happy, keeping for life. After all, if they (Apple) in times, have no upgrades and new products to share and stalled for few months, we the loyalists, still keep buying odds and ends from the Store. Keeping your other staff members' family have food on the table on the daily basis. Just sayin' Arrggh~

fuzz,

I think you misunderstand how this forum is run..

Users with certain levels.. (See under their Icons on the lefthand side of posts) can report posts and request their removal..

For example I am a level 4 user and so i have the ability to report posts if i feel they are inappropriate for this forum...

There are also people from Apple (Web Support Staff) here who both read through and act upon when needed ... the reports and requests, certain user levels can make.. and also monitor and remove offensive or spam postings themselves..

Software support staff (the type you are trying to reach with your issue) here are almost no existant.. and certainly very little that is posted here, gets reported back to Apple.

If you want to voice your opinion, in a worthwhile way... call or write to Apple directly.. The odds are much higher that you would be heard by doing so.. than simply posting here repeatedly...

No wayyy... they cannot escape and left their customers in the lurch this time around....

This is the first time i come across bad publicity centered around non-technical problem less than a week after new product/series/app launch....

I even considering this issue as MY CASE STUDY..... is it a normal practice in the so-called App world??

Overcharging the consumers when they already knowing about new/upgrade release and restrict the information to people...

Logic is a small market anyway (by comparison to other segments) i cannot believe they cheat some loyalists just for a mere $199, but then again are they too broke and need to collect $199 from thousands of ill-informed 'loyalists' (to bring dinner/plates to their developer's families) , im also not so sure... I hope Not

i'm witcha, fuzz. well, either they are so well aware of it now or completely ignoring it.. we just have to wait a while longer.. but what's most important here.. we just gotta keep the music playing~ it will come around soon officially, for better or for worse.

oh, i did call the support and escalate the subject and will get back to me within 48 hours 2 days ago so i may be hearing back from them soon. im not too enthusiastic about the end result though.. hmmm

just to be clear,

i read the licenses again, both in the app and in the store,

there its declared that apple is free to decide to upgrade or update, there are no warranties to do that.
where, in example myself, agreed with!
it is also written in that license that the company cares about local laws if this local law "overrides" some of the written words. so this discussion here is totally okay to me, sometime things have to be spoken out because there is no better place. it would be much more confusing if this discussion would be hold in other forums where, lets say, future consumers run across this stuff and make decisions to come into the family of apple users or not. maybe a lot apple users don't care, but i think they start to care about if they would have sold the app just some days before and now they would look like monkeys what happened by spending the money they decided..
i just do not believe that the strategy at all would be so, i think apple will solve this problem if they see that the basement of users care about good stuff they can believe in they have with that software.. in this case support plays a big part of trust. and the forum here could not work properly if any critics in new behavior made by, in this case the app store strategy, are just cleaned out of the thread. erasing problems does not solve them.
