Why is the Apple Mac Developer portal down, and for how long?

I cannot access the Mac Developer resources this morning.

With a company as advannced as Apple, I would expect them to be able to roll out web updates

seamlessly.

I don't like being out in the cold.

I want to download the Mavericks Beta.

Hey guys. It says in the Apple status page that the certificates and profiles are back online...

Can any of you access it right now??? (10:28 PM EDT, July 26, 2013)

Because when I press the Ios certificates, The page tells me I have to agree to a new updates licenses agreement first... And then when I press that it's back to the maintenance page again.

Are any of you having the same problem?

I think after all this wait, it is unethical for apple to say their certificates are back online when it really isn't.

I would appreciate your comments on this.

Really? Wow. So you weren't prompted to agree on a new license agreement first?

This is really weird. Am I being singled out? I should be able to access that too.

Did they places the distribution certificates on a new url? Could you kindly provide me the same url which allowed you to get your distribution certificates?

I'm really desperate hehe. I need those certificates so badly.

I'm the agent and didn't see any mention of a new license agreement. I do have a small team and they did most of the actual work. All they did was click on the link in the status page and it took them straight to what they needed.

I must say I'm happy with how it's gone tonight. I was half expecting a nightmare but nope all good so far. I even got a slight heads up on some of the dev site being functioning tonight by pressing the F5 key before any email update was sent out 🙂 I probably had a 20 minute or so headstart ha ha

Thank you for your response slicg.

I'm glad it worked smoothly for you. I followed your advice but it's maintenance page again for me.

i have a theory of what is going on to me though, It would seem that apple updated their developer license agreement in the past month and I wasn't able to logon since a month ago because I was busy coding my app.

The nightmare for me has not yet ended, though. As it would seem that even though the certificates are back online, I will not be able to access it until the "LEGAL" documents come back online too. Which is perhaps the last function they will restore.

Which would bring my app for review at the back end of a very long line.

*Sigh*

Ah so that's really my issue right now.

Thanks for the info. I will have to dig deeper in my patience 'well'. I hope and pray to the coding gods that these legal document will come online today or tomorrow.

I hope this fiasco with apple never happens again. It's too much for me.

What is the name of your app? I would like to download it :-)

Jul 26, 2013 8:34 PM in response to Chester20

If I could send you a pm I'll tell you but we can't pm here. I don't want to put the name out on here, doing so kinda seems wrong.

There was a paid version of it released in June which was pretty much a beta version that I only marketed to small specific groups. I mostly wanted feedback but also to see if people would pay for it which they did. Based on the group sizes and interests it did really well and earned genuine 5 star ratings. Tonight we submitted a major update to it based on the feedback received and a scaled back free version too.

Fingers are crossed that it'll be the next big word game 😉 Time will tell. I have another two original word games lined up behind this one too. Word games are my passion, and I'm the inventive type, so hopefully I've been able to marry them well...

Can you not update your agreement in ITC? I don't remember if I needed to access the member center to do that.

Jul 26, 2013 9:32 PM in response to slicg

Yes of course you can PM me the name of your game instead.

I have a dummy email account which I don't really use and don't mind sharing.

I'll check your app out when i get the name :-)

There are many people that are into word games. I'm sure yours would do well.

My app is an actual motion game. kinda like angry birds but with a different gameplay and less animation. But yeah i think it has a market it can exploit. Took me a long time and nearly $1,000 in music and clipart licenses to complete it.

Will reply to you the would-be name of my app. As it is yet to be submitted to the app store for review.

As for itunes connect, I followed one of the moderator's advice... but the link ITC game me threw me back in the developer center. Which threw me back in the maintenance page.

Already working on my second game right now. Before the outtage I only had my first game, now I'm already in the middle of my second game. lol, maybe by the time my first game becomes available in the app store i woulda already submitted my second!

Let's hope it doesn't take that long though.

Surely you aren't suggesting you installed the beta on your personal device? Why would anyone do that? Those things are expensive.

IMO, exactly for that reason. Small devs cannot affford to have multiple iPhones/iPods lying around, and anyway, using the beta in every day use, is the only way of really testing it and reporting issues.

Just my opinion.

I like what you said here, and happy that others realise there are Devs out there like me, that cant afford more than 1 of each. Ive asked my wife to add her iPad to my Developement Devices, but she said not until they bring out hopefully a much stabler Beta4 as my iPad Mini, well yea, its not the best at the moment.

I wish i could buy a new device everytime one comes out, but i cant.

Living on a Pesion, Retired from the Military from 2 tours in that war, i took to teaching myself C, then Obj-C so if i get my App out in the 2nd Q next year, i make a dime or two.

Im happy enough with using my everyday device, as i have a backup Phone, and still a MBP to use.

So in essence, dont forget about us 1Dev teams. We are trying our best to keep up with the big boys 🙂
