I cannot access the Mac Developer resources this morning.
With a company as advannced as Apple, I would expect them to be able to roll out web updates
seamlessly.
I don't like being out in the cold.
I want to download the Mavericks Beta.
I know what you mean. Just yesterday I comitted to spending the $100, and what the heck, they can't take my money. I have been said to be impatient. It's true. People who computer at 3+ GHz have trouble relating to delays expressed in terms of "days". I guess they will be back up soon enough. We do tend to take this all for granted. I am struggliong though to keep that warm feeling about Apple in these post Steve days.
I've read that it's down due to people crowding in to snag the latest iOS 7 beta?

we get it Mike, however it has been around 40 hours since it's down. Yes every company needs a downtime but 40 hours during the week is not very typical

I just paid my money too, signed up and raring to go. Like heading out of town for the weekend only to hit a massive traffic jam. Oh well, glad I'm well trained in the art of patience when it comes to developing things...
If I simply wanted to download the beta I would suck it up and wait, but I actually have important things to take care of...As in today.
If Apple is following the normal schedule of beta releases then another set of iOS and Xcode previews would be posting on Monday. Considering the late hour of the day here on the west coast and considering the upcoming beta releases I wouldn't be surprised now if the site stayed down until then. But I also would not be surpised if it came back in the next 5 minutes either.
This developer forum has never been so busy 🙂
So, while we're waiting for the rev portal to come back up... What kinds of projects are you all working on? I'm an iPhone developer myself and I'm working on an update for "DotBook", a marching band drill simulator app.
I will be working an app that helps me download all the wwdc session videos, sample codes in case next time this happens again....
I was unable to access the site on Wednesday.
- Why was no one notified of the down time in advance?
- When is the expected time that the site will be up?
- Why does the downtime message say "extended period today" when the site has been down for days?
- Will the site go down again for more than an hour without advanced notice?
- Will we be notified via e-mail of a down-time before hand or during the outage?
- What is the official comment from Apple on this downtime?
- How can developers download the required SDK's during down-times like these?
