To answer my own question ( 'cause someone may need it ),

Go To Applications/Logic Pro ( that's Logic Pro 9 ) ctrl+Click Show Package Contents and then go to MIDI Device Plug-ins...

Copy the 2 highlighted component, Axiom Pro.bundle + Axiom.bundle and go to

/Logic Pro x/Contents/MIDI Device Plug-ins

and the paste 2 items....

Voila!!!

Everything works like acharm so far... 🙂

Now, I can really enjoy Logic Pro X

Thank you for that tid bit!

Finally!

I was struggling all day trying to figure out how to get my oxygen 49 to show up. Totally worked since it's all bundled in the direct link with axiom as well.

FyI M-Audio, got bought out by the company that owns Akai. Not sure how much support there will be for M-audio products now, but when I mentioned buying the Axiom, the guy was suggesting the Akais instead.

Well I just purchased a brand new iMac for the sake of Logic X, currently running 10.8.5, and I've tried every solution in this thread as well as others I've found, and I still can't even get it to recognize my Axiom Pro 61.

At one point it briefly seemed to acknowledge the presence of a some controller, but I have yet to even get the keys to register, let alone any of the HyperControl features. It is literally useless at the moment.

This is in addition to issues I'm now having with my interface (Apogee Duet Firewire) - my whole setup is effed right now.

Given how everything worked so flawlessly in Logic 9/10.6.8 on my trusty 4 year old MBP, I was reclucant to upgrade anything, and now I see why. I totally regret buying this iMac/Logic X.

The funny thing is it isn't even one with a Fusion drive - just a plain ole 7200 RPM disk, which I thought would've been a safe bet as far as compatibility issues are concerned. Not so much.

So bummed 😟

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I didn't see the Haswell message before I bought it - I really didn't anticipate a hardware refresh being a potential problem, figuring the OS would be the potential hangup to worry about (which is why I kept it on 10.8). I guess I should've been more thorough in my research - lesson learned.

In all fairness I'm uncertain about the status of the Duet issues at this point, as I haven't yet had a chance to really do much with it, but it does output sound at least. The only problem I've noticed so far is the inability to control volume with the keyboard, which is a relatively minor issue I can deal with. I haven't tried recording or anything like that yet, as so far I've been preoccupied with the Axiom issue. I'm crossing my fingers that the volume control issue is the extent of it - one can hope I guess.

Thanks again.

Ah, I didn't think about the cable, as I bought it fairly recently, but it is a 2.0 cable, so maybe that will do the trick. Thanks for the suggestion - I'll give it a shot.

As for copying the plugins from my old MBP, I actually did that with no luck. I realize it is unlikely that M-Audio will release a fix, so hopefully the cable will at least allow me use it as a basic Midi keyboard - I'd consider hypercontrol a bonus.

Hello all - I have been using Logic 9 with Axiom Pro 49 for ~2 years, and just recently decided to upgrade to Logic X.....which is what led me to this post :-( Argh!! a painful discovery after-the-fact.

I have been trying the manual work arounds suggested, though, it seems unlike most, I do not have any Axiom bundles in Contents/MIDI Device Plug-ins when showing package contents of Logic Pro (Logic 9). Yet....my HyperControl is works great and I'm able to control plug-ins w/o issue. ???

On another post somebody kindly made these bundles available, so I downloaded and tried to drop into MIDI Device Plug-ins for Logic X and launch.....but no luck. The only controls that work are transports (play, stop, etc). When I go to Setup in Control Surfaces.....I see, well......I'm not really sure. But it looks like this:

I can click on the empty space above the "Axiom Pro" label and white box, and using shortcut menu show inspector info which leads to....

HyperControl is selected as In/Out for ports, which seems correct at least according to Axiom documentation.

Yet.....still no HyperControl with my Logic X. Any other ideas or suggestions????

I Realize this an old post but I'm hoping someone may have asuggestion for me. I've been running an Axiom in Logic Pro x under Yosemite after installing the Direct Link controller files manually as suggested above. I had no problems at all And it worked just great.

Recently I upgraded to El Capitan on a separate drive and installed a fresh copy of Logic Pro X 10.2. I again used the manual copy/paste method to install the Axiom Direct Link files into LPX 10.2 it seemed to work fine. I could go to the controllers page and access it's parameters and all seem well.

Here is the problem:

The first time I hit the play button I received a message that a frame rate of 25fps had been detected and that Logic was using 29.97fps. Would I like to use 25 or 29.97?

I Selected 29.97. Now, when playing back audio, both the speed and pitch of the audio were fluctuating. I tried changing some of the sync communications preferences to correct the issue but that didn't work, so I deleted the Axiom controller from Logic Pro's controller list and that solved the fluctuation problem. The thing is, now when I try to reinstall the Axiom software using the manual method Logic only recognizes the Axiom Pro bundle and NOT the regular Axiom bundle! It's been very difficult finding info about this online other than the description of the installer workaround. If anyone has any thoughts of what I could try next it would be most appreciated! I've spen about 8 hours trying to figure this out today with NO LUCK!
