Over the last two days, I am facing issues with my Macbook pro 13 inch. While running Ableton, it freezes, even though the CPU is not overloaded. Post that, it abruptly crashes to the login screen, and does not respond.

I somehow got it to work and I ran Disk Utility. I verified the disk and it came out ok. I ran "Repair Disk Permissions", and after running for five minutes, it resolved some issues and I got the all ok message.

Here are some lines from the console messages from about the time that I experienced the issue today.

If someone could help me out, it would be awesome. I haven't backe duo my system (I know I am a moron, and losing anything on my system would be devastating. (To make matters worse, I have to submit some remixes in a couple of days. Need my system and my Ableton (not to mention my Tarktor pro) to work smooth.

See if you have any kernel panic logs (you should) -> http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2546 - and post one of them.

Just one will do... hopefully one with a very close time stamp to your console logs.

That's not a kernel panic log - read the instructions in the KB article again.

    Not KP.

    OS X: About Kernel Panics

regardless, OP needs to update to 10.7.5 and rebuild his kextcache. Beforehand however, to confirm:

    Since:

    objc[151]: garbage collection is OFF

    From terminal:

    sudo update_dyld_shared_cache -force

If exit successfully, then proceed to update. If error message appears, may need to reinstall OS X from scratch.

This is not a kernel panic. This is a boot log.

    From terminal:

    sudo update_dyld_shared_cache -force

If exit successfully, then proceed to update. If error message appears, may need to reinstall OS X from scratch.

If a kernel panic occurs, information is added to a log file in the folder /Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports

There is a difference between kernel panics and crash reports. Never apologize for asking questions. The point of these communities is to answer questions and resolve problems.
