iPad app store updates not working

There are two iPads in our household, an iPad 2 and an iPad Mini,. Both are running the latest IOS 6.1.3

On both the App Store badges show updates are to be done but the update page in the app is blank.

I updated some app in the purchased tab, but not all apps show there.

Since this issue arose simultaneously on both devices I suspect it is something Apple did.

The problem is 100% on Apple's end. We have the same problem here with two new iPads. We went to the Apple Store yesterday for a Genius appointment, after the tech wiped both iPads and reinstalled the iOS the same problem occurred. THEN at that point the tech whips out HIS iPad and low and behold HE cannot connect either! The tech then walked over to a display iPad on the sales floor and guess what???? It would not update either, just a blank screen.

One would think that that would have been the first thing he would have checked. 90 min. in the Apple Store, plus hours of reloading apps, etc. on two iPads. While the tech was great and was a wealth on knowledge this was a pretty big waste of time.

This particular "remedy" didn't make much sense or have any technical logic that I understood, but I tried it anyway.

I tried the recommended closing of the AppStore in the task bar, then double rebooting. I actually attempted this twice (twice closing the AppStore and rebooting twice per time). It didn't fix anything. The AppStore update window is a blank screen that never loads.

I'm 99.99% certain that this is an issue Apple needs to correct on their end. You can reboot your iPad a thousand times, reinstall its software, take it to the Genious Bar in Apple Stores around the world, fly it to the moon and back and chant with Tibetan munks. There is nothing anyone can do to correct the issue on their end. Apple, and Apple alone, holds the key to this issue. It's a server-end thing. It may also be fixed region by region, so if someone *does* report a "fix" that they believe truly worked for them, they're mostly likely just in a region that the issue was fixed in around the time they attempted to "fix" their iPad AppStore issue. Either that, or they're trolling for suckers to try rediculous "remedies" and report back about it... kind of like what I just did.

This just worked for me - you might try it. I closed the app from the multitasking bar. Then I brought it back up from the App Store icon. Then I made sure the Updates tab was set and then I closed the app again from the multitasking bar. The next time the app came up, the apps that needed updating were shown. Updates were downloaded as normal, and my iPad is now good to go.
