Can't get Godaddy outgoing server to work in Mail - OK in Outlook

No matter what I try, I just cannot get the Godaddy outgoing server to work in Mail, but it works OK in Outlook for Mac which I don't really want to use if I can avoid it.

I've tried all my 3 accounts and none of them work with sending. All Ok receiving.

Tried smtpout.secureserver.net with and without SSL, and with all sorts of ports 80, 3535, etc.

Nothing works.

Can anyone suggest any solution or more in depth troubleshooting methods. I feel it's some security issue which Outlook seems to have more settings for.

Thanks.

Having tons of issues with Outlook for Mac 2011 and GoDaddy email. Have spent countless hours on the phone with Godaddy, Office and my ISP. Each one passes the buck to the other. Neither has a solution. Godaddy finally said there are incompatability issues with Outlook that cannot be remedied. Funny thing however, when I switched everything over to Apple Mail..started having the same issues. My conclusion... GoDaddy has a problem with their email. Time to find another provider.

I am convinced that there is a problem with Godaddy accounts, iOS and Mac OS X.

Back in July, after all the problems reported above, Godaddy basically couldn't solve the problem with Mail and just said that they don't and won't guarantee compatibility with 3rd party email clients. As long as webmail is working, that is as far as they want to go.

Since July, I have intermittent problems with my Godaddy accounts on my iMac and MBP. Same issues - works OK for a few days, then there is imtermittent 'password incorrect', 'can't send using smtpout.secureserver.net', 'incorrect settings', etc. etc.

Usually, my iOS devices are OK, but even they have 'password incorrect in settings' errors every few days.

I also had a problem with my main Godaddy account in that emails stopped coming into my Inbox in Mail. That was resolved by deleting the 'com.apple.mail.plist' file.

Very frustrating. I have never had any problems with any other email provider - iCloud, GMail, Yahoo, 123reg, etc.

I also would like to leave Godaddy because of the Apple incompatibilities.

I've been having the same problems. I work in a small company and we use godaddy as an email provider. We have run into problems multiple times in the past and I usually fiddle with settings, delete accounts, uninstall, sit on the phone with techs, etc and nothing ever seems to work, then one day the problem will magically go away.

We have 5 computers, 4 of them macs, 1 windows 7. We had smtpout connection issues start on one of the macs about 3 weeks ago now, oct 1 or 2. Was followed on another mac a week later, a third that same week but different day and the 4th the following week. The windows computers is still chugging along without even a hiccup. Godaddy has been no help as ArizonaJones said, they just pass the buck.

Everywhere I look seems to be the same message, get away from godaddy. After a year of this I'm thinking that's what I should do.

I was having the same issue with Godaddy mail not sending email out in Mac mail. Here's how I fixed the problem (I'm using imap with SSL in the settings). Open mac mail the go to mail>preferences>accounts>your godaddy email account. Under the account information tab, at the bottom of the account info page there's the TLS Certificate setting which is by default set to None. Change that to the com.apple.imds.appleid........... . After you've changed the TLS Certificate click the close button and click save settings/changes in the pop up box. Now you should be able to send godaddy email with mac mail!
