The problem may be that you need to log out of your iCloud account on your mac then log back in. That would be the first step.
This worked for me as well.
This worked for me. Thank you!
This did not work for me. I sign in using my username and password in the imessage preferences box. Then a window pops up asking me to enter my iMessage password. There is a checkbox asking me to remember this in my keychain. After I enter the password the box reappears. This happens over and over again. To make sure I'm typing in the correct password, I purposely type in a wrong password and I am told the password is incorrect. So I know it's not that.
This solution worked for me.
UPDATE: I got it working. In iCloud settings I selected notes and email. This asked me to create an @me account or @icloud. So I set it up and entered the @icloud address as secondary email address to iMessage. This seemed to do the trick.
Yup. Blocking Flash Storage fixed it first time. It's been bugging me for weeks. Thank you.
Only thing that worked for me either - f*&^ing Flash
Blocking Flash storage in the System Preferences fixed it for me, too.
Cmon, guys...
"Restart your computer" – that what has actually helped you to fix Messages.
I had the same problem.
But I DIDN'T HAVE Flash. I don't have it now as well.
And I tried different technicks to fix Messages.
But at the end I realized that the only thing I had to do is just to restart.
And it has worked.
So don't blame Flash for things it didn't cause.
It worked yes 🙂 finally. I have tried reseting the keychain, reseting the hosts file, and bunch of other stuff. but only this fix worked
Restarting my computer didn't fix the issue.
However, once I followed the steps above and restarted it again, it worked. Coincidence? Possibly. It's unlikely, however, that all of these people were helped with the same coincidence.
This is the only option that worked for me - surprisingly enough. I tried to log out of iCloud, but all of that was just an inconvienice. Thanks for the helpful solution!
This worked for me. I would actually try to restart your computer first.
the problem also applies to facetime
I don't know how this worked, but frankly, all I care about is that it DID work! Thanks for the weird-but-working solution!
▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Storage
and click
Block all sites from storing information on this computer
Close the preference pane. If this action solves the problem, please post your results.
Restart your computer and you should be good to go!
