apple stocks widget not working
Over the last few days, the stock widget just displays blanks. Anyone else have this issue or know what to do about it?
Thanks

Hi, not only mutual funds but etf's as well. I was having this exact problem but had no mutual funds in my lineup so after reading about mutual funds causing problems thought I would delete the etf I had listed...and voila, problem solved...thanks to all for the help.
UPDATE TO EARLIER POST
Widget quit updating again today...after I had removed all of the mutual funds a week ago, which is the action that got it working then...instead of debugging this time, I'm settling for clicking on the Yahoo symbol in the lower left corner to click through to a page that shows me everything I want...really irritating...and a lot less so than repeatedly debugging this problem, which Apple apparently has no interest in fixing...
FURTHER UPDATE
One day of having to click on the Yahoo symbol to get my quotes and I gave in to further troubleshooting...I removed silver (XAGUSD=X) and gold (XAUUSD=X) and the quotes updated...when I re-added gold, the quotes continued to update...when I re-added silver, the widget quit updating the quotes...go figure...
ONE LAST COMMENT
Martin Backschat's iStocks widget, which hasn't been updated since 2012 and uses Yahoo's international service, is working perfectly...it is updating quotes on all of the stocks, currencies and metals I was originally tracking using Apple's Yahoo Finance widget, including the items that now fail in the Apple widget...iStocks is available at http://maba.wordpress.com/widgets/
Some anecdotal info: I happened to be in an Apple store today and launched the Stocks widget. It was populated with the default ticker symbols. I added T and MO just be sure the widget still worked properly, and it did. When I added the Vanguard fund that crashes mine, the widget crashed. Then I removed the Vanguard symbol and all was well.
So we can rule out old hardware and various third-party software as the cause. It's happening on the latest model (stock) Macbook Pro. C'mon, Apple – get this fixed!
I found a solution. I was having the same problem and finally just deleted it and installed another stocks widget from Fidelity, but I didn't like it. So I decided to try to find the original Yahoo Finance widget to reinstall, but instead I found an updated version at Martin Backschat’s Blog here:

I installed that Version 0.3.8, added my stocks (including indices and mutual funds) and everything is working fine again.
