iMessage acting weird?

My friend just got an iPhone 5 on T-Mobile, but she can send iMessages to me, but I can't send iMessages to her. Both devices have iMessage activated with checkmarks on both the phone number and apple ID email address. We both have tried resetting the devices and turning off/on iMessage. Is there a way to fix this problem?

does she has more than one iOS device assigned to the same eMail account? Try unselecting the gmail account and leave the phone number only. Also try signing off from iCloud or delete the iCloud account from your settings and add the accoung again. It will prompt you to store all your contacts in your phone before you proceed, I would answer "yes" to that question. Reset the phone before you add the account again.

Good luck.

Yes, I cannot send iMessage to her from my iPhone even when not connected to WIFI.

Not a complete answer to what I asked...

So, you can send iMessages to everyone except your girlfriend, no matter where you are or whether you use cell data or WiFi, and your girlfriend can receive iMessages from everyone except you, yet can send you iMessage?

I suspect there are additional critical information you have not yet revealed, but I'm done playing 20 Questions...
