iTunes store is currently unavailable only for most recently purchased content

I couldn't agree with you more. I also think it is hilarious that their service status page has been "all green" this entire time. What good is a service status dashboard if it is totally inaccurate?

That was the same show that screwed up for me. They apparently fixed their server problem, though, cause mine started working about a week ago.

Yeah finally I checked last night and seasons 1 -8 are back in my purchased section on ATV but season 9 still not showing on any device under purchased, I can search and watch it or go to more on iTunes link but not in purchased section, also seeing the same problem with other new shows I purchase like SOA and braking bad last Sundays episode still not in purchased section.

At the risk of sounding like a curmudgeon, I can't stand having movies and songs I purchased stored at someone else's place. I wish iTunes would let me burn the discs or at least download the file once for my personal use.

This mad rush for the elimination of physical media is unsettling. I don't want to fill my garage with millions of DVDs etc., but I would like to access the files LOCALLY. I'd rather pay for a few 1TB external hard drives than have a third party decide to keep me from accessing the content I purchased.

I have yet to really trust "The Cloud". Because I know the dude that is keeping my stuff in a big virtual vault will eventually forget the combination.

I am also having the same exact issue and have tried all of the above. Please let me know if anyone hears anything from Apple or finds a solution. Thanks.
