Yellow discoloration How-to get rid off it?

Hello,

since the original thread was closed down without any answer on the subject, here goes: How to get rid of the yellow/grey/orange discoloration a lot of MacBooks are showing? This is a technical issue, so I think there should be no problems with this thread now should there.

OK, another thing: Since the last thread WAS shut down, it certainly seems that someone of Apple is reading these post after all, so maybe any official answers?

Hoping for problem-solving and sincerely,

Martin Stroschein.

I'm tempted to order a set of these from shieldzone
and apply as soon as my MB arrives....

Pretty good stuff. I just received a kit this afternoon, applied it and I'm impressed. The kit included a trackpad protector, but I peeled it off---just doesn't feel right on the trackpad and it is hurts the sensitivity of the pad a bit.

Other folks' experience may vary with that part of the kit.

It is definitely a no-brainer, though. Even if the staining issue didn't exist, I would think that all the white Macs should have this kit, if anything, just only in the wrist pad area.

Very pricey, but I think we need this, or its equivalent.

what is the shield zone like, exactly?..just a vinyl static sticker with adhesive or what??..and..is it as noticable as a static sticker if I were to put one on the top?...ideally, once I find a definitive way to get these ****** cheetos stains off the palmrest and click pad..I'd like to to put SOMETHING on there so I'm not CONSTANTLY wiping off my CLEAN hands couple of minutes I'm on this thing!....oh..also..to APPLE: I can live with the bottom of my feet turning lime green..no prob...but do SOMETHING about the parts others can see...

What's with you, guys? Dirty hands, and now dirty, *lime green* feet?! 😉 (ok, not funny...)
That really *****, though... my Macbook is perfect in every respect but i've basically stopped using it for fear that it'll have the same problem 😟
And i have until tomorrow to return it - that's if they let me, because it seems getting the DVI adapter in the same order made my Macbook BTO User uploaded file

I have a small light patch forming on my right palm rest. I'm really bothered by this, and i'm tempted to take it back to the apple store. But I don't think they would replace it and i'd have to spend $200 on restocking fees. I hate to think what this is going to look like a year from now.. I have only 2 days left on my 14 day return policy from the apple store. What to do?

Is it possible that we could send them in months from now when they get reall really bad, and they could replace the whole case to something that doesnt stain?

From Europe: there is a small stain on the trackpad button of my white MacBook. When you try to clean it with water, it disappears momentarily, but returns almost immediately. My guess is that the plastic is water resistant, so you probably need something stronger. By the way: I'm using the MacBook only when travelling, and often use an external mouse, so the discoloration isn't very obvious on my machine, yet.

Count me in on the stains - they're totally gross.
I'm bummed but not as much as when I had a whiney
Macbook Pro. I think I'll live with it and then if
I every try to sell it I'll order the plastic part
from Apple service.

Just for information purpose and to see which series are affected, can you give the 5 first characters of your serial number?

And also can you send a mail to the webmaster of this site (see "affected customer" section), so that you can get referenced on the list: http://stainedbook.info/
