How do i get rid of a iPhone Virus?

I have now for the second time a strange virus on my Iphone 5, iOs 6.1.4 It opens randomly the pre-installed apple apps like Newsstand, Settings, Notes etc. and changes settings there. The first time I had it, it sent a message with "awkward" to one of my contacts. This time it changed my wallpaper. I haven't jailbreaked my iPhone. How do I get rid of this ****? It seems to help to switch the Wifi off. A reset of the settings did work the first time but not now. Thanks for your help!

Your problem does not sound as if it has any relation to anything being discussed in this thread. You're more likely to get the best help by starting your own thread. Explain what you're trying to do, what happens when you try and what troubleshooting steps you've taken. Please be sure to use short sentences that end with proper punctuation. Large, unpunctuated blocks of texts are very difficult to understand.

stop going to sites that allow access to content that is pay-for or copyrighted material that those sites don't own. Sites like that promote this kind of unscrupulous activity are often supported by the use of fraudulent ads.

If you can't avoid sites like this then you should expect your phone to be besieged by this type of ad and you will need to continually deal with it.

Well, just trading it in, isn't what I had in mind with my questions?

1. Did you go to Settings>Safari

- Do you have "Preload Top Hit" turned on? If so, turn it off

- Have you clicked on Clear History and Website Data

2. Have you double-clicked your Home key and swiped up on the Safari icon to completely close it

3. Stop using whatever link is ultimately taking you to that link. As you browse, pay attention to the URL - see if one of the sites you are using is re-directing you to this site, and if so, stop using it

Cheers,

OK, so, I'm not sure if by "legit" you mean it is NOT jailbroken? No one has messed with the innards of the device?

And again, I did not ask if you had a backup, I said if you do have a backup that was made before this started happening, then you can erase the device and restore to that older backup.

If you do not, you are going to need to erase the device and set it up as a new device.

This has nothing to do with a SIM card. Your software is corrupted. Why, I can't tell you. But you need to get rid of it, and start fresh. Either with a copy of that software before it got corrupted, or by setting up your device as a brand new device. You can manually download your media OTA, or you can sync it with your iTunes Library either via a USB cable or OTA.

But you need to erase the device, either way.

Also, you don't, by any chance, have any Anti Virus software or apps that were downloaded to your device that did not come from the App Store, do you?

My iPhone 5 battery dies really quickly I'll charge it to 100 and one minute later it's at 46 and then 10 mins later it's die and I'm not even playing on it or on a app and the battery will do down like 20 to 30 %

Then make an appointment at the genius bar and have it checked. The battery has probably reached the end of its usable life.
