Hotmail not connecting to server iPhone 5

I have been having the same problem for several days, but only for one of my Hotmail accounts (call it #1). When I logged in to another Hotmail account (#2) on my desktop, it asked for a code; I had the code sent to account #1 and when I entered the code back on the desktop it did not recognize it. I've been through that three this morning. I have deleted account #1 from my phone and re-added it. Still no good. FRUSTRATING!!!

where exactly do I paste the code into the hotmail password field on my iphone? I have tried that and it did not work.

I'm having the exact same problem as you... account #1 works fine, but #2 always gives me the "servor failed" error... I share your frustration!!!

I am still having trouble getting my hotmail emails to my iPhone 5. It was working perfectly up until MS had the glitch on the 14th. Please help. Thanks in advance.

Same error here also, some of my hotmail accounts work, but not all of them.

Even though https://status.live.com says everything is fine...

While MS is working on the issue, sync ur hotmail by using "other" option.

Go to Add Account / other / Mail / Add Mail Account

Then fill up ur email and password. U won't get ur created folders but at least u won't miss any mail.

Yup it worked, so it's a MS related issue (for a change).

ya its not working now, before 2 hours it was ok but now again problem.

Ive been having the same problem for the last four days now and im in Australia.........My Iphone and Ipad won't sync to my hotmail, can't send, nor receive any mail, it also appears that about 5 months worth of emails have dropped off my phone.

Microsoft state the problem is fixed on their website, but NOT TRUE.

I tried the 2 step authentication and that seemed to go through just fine, but still getting the error and no e-mail syncing.

Well, there's the option in the live status page to report issues. Let's all report this problem, and then maybe micro$oft will pay some attention.
