Sound on Apple TV not working.

I had the same problem this morning. I restarted my Apple TV and began hearing the sound from my movies again. Not sure if it will resolve for you, but I woiuld try.

yeah, but how often should I do this procedure? Daily?

Right now, the sounds are just fine. But probably missing tommorrow. etc.

When you had the missing sound, what did your receiver say?

Worked for me too. Reset Go to Settings>General>Reset. Relatively painless.

i have restarted all systems, no luck

Where are these settings on Apple TV?

Gave it the old unplug for 10 seconds. Plugged back in. Bingo! The old basic IT fix.

I M having the same problem- it's just the Apple TV with hdmi to the tv- old apple one tv worked fine, tried everything and still no sound.......

After trying all kinds of troubleshooting steps to no avail, a simple restart of the AppleTV---thanks to you--solved the problem. Thanks!

Go to System Preferences-Sound-Output- see if Airplay is checked and that the volume slider is all the way up

I have seen this problem too work around for me is to unplug the HDMI cable and plug it back

Just unplug Apple TV box and plug it back in
