Well, kind of.....

The problem really is, people think these are Apple supported forums and so expect Apple to respond here....

When in fact the best way to resolve issues that other Users cannot help with here.. is to contact Apple directly....

The catch to doing that is, if you are not covered by Applecare agreements or it's outside the initial period of support for any App you bought... you may have to pay for that direct help... and people don't want to pay.

The other option is to make an appointment with the nearest Apple store for the Genius Bar but not every Apple Store has a Logic Pro expert... and so the level of help you might get, can vary wildly.

That is why Users congregate here and try to help each other..... but there are some issues that no one can really help.. when it comes to confirmed bugs or Apple's policies... so complaining here about such things.. just falls on deaf ears... because we are not Apple 🙂

I personally report bugs via the Dev's system as explained via that last link... as you do then often get feedback on what you have reported... though the quality of that feedback can vary from a detailed response to a simple "Okay.. It;'s being investigated" type of reply. But it's often a lot better than the 'non' feedback you get from using the official Logic Pro Feedback form.

Thanks for the clarification and useful information. The notion that this was only a site for users was in the back of my head, but you laid things out nicely. That does not mean that my frustration with Apple is zero, but I will stop banging my head against the wall now...

Many of us here, bang our heads on regular occasions thanks to some of the things Apple do..... or don't do... so you are not alone!

On a side note, if you sample the sound of mass head banging here, it can provide a nice rhythmic backdrop to certain soundtrack pieces.........

Well, in my case the problem appears to have been my controller. I had the problem on two different computers, with different projects. After changing my controller (Old, banged up Kurzweil) I have had no problems. I do not know what errant data was being sent, but folks with this problem may want to try changing their MIDI controller. So far, that has solved my problem.

Ah.. the good old "sticky' pitch bend controller.... where it doesn't always reset back to zero?

It could have been that. I could never find the corrupted data--I am far from an expert user of Logic. (Relatively an expert with regard to music performance...) Thanks again, and I just wanted to make a comment that may help someone, even if I don't have the exact diagnosis of the problem.

i found the problem. Open "global tracks". You will see "chord".. this cause our problem. if you delete all chords, song will be crazy. i go back my yesterday's backup (because yesterday, i have no problem), and i see that no "chord" sectıon at "global tracks".. and problem fixed. i'm from turkey and sorry about my bad english!

Umm.. So I don't blog very often but I figure I oughta return the favors I received from bloggers over the years, so for what ever it's worth.. I totally get how a mod wheel can mess with the midi notes on a track unintentionally, amidst other things..One quick fix I discovered, though once again a round about way.. Is just create a duplicate track with the same settings and drag the 'infected' midi down to it.. It's seemed to be an instant bypass for me, takes two seconds and I can move on.. Instead of crunching my mind in the middle of being on the zone.. Hope that tip helped whoever might read this. That isue has happened to me a bunch and this tactic seems to be quick and easy if you don't mind having an extra track. 🙂

Just to clarify.. Create a duplicate track with the same settings, then simply pull your midi track from the bad track onto the new one. Then move forward and enjoy making music again.
