Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
My iphone 5 has a black screen. I haven't wet it. It was simply in my bag and when I took it out the screen was black. It doesn't make any noises but when I call it from someone elses phone it doesn't go straight to voicemail as if it's dead. It won't even connect to the computer and my lock button is kinda broken. I can't reboot it. Help please??

I assume you tried charging the phone with the AC adaptor for at least 30 minutes, with no response. Right?
If you did, you need to reset the phone (no data loss): Press both home and power buttons for up to 1 minute, releasing when the Apple logo appears.
However if your power button is "kinda broken", you won't be able to reset, and you only option is replacement or repair.
Holding down the power and home buttons simultaneously, releasing only after the apple logo came on the screen, worked for me, too, on an iPhone 6 that had frozen and 100% unresponsive to any other action I could think to take—other than throwing it across the room, which I did not do. Even the clock had stopped.

I have the same issue, and followed your steps with my phone at full power
the apple came up but was unable to do anything and my screen keeps going black with the apple coming up and then goes black again
Then it will ask for my password, enter it and it goes back to the black screen with the apple going on and off
this has been going on for days
long for the days of me flip phone
any help?
