Cant download apps because Itunes keeps asking me to verify account info. Does anyone have a work around?

Everytime I try to download an App, it says I have to verify my account information to continue. I have tried verifing, reentering, changing credit card, and changing shipping address. Everytime I input my credit card info and press enter it gos back to account info screen and say to call support. When I call support, the tell me that It might be something with shipping address. No help AT ALL. Does anyone know a work around for this?

Im having a similar problem. I just bought an ipod and created a appleid. When i try to sign into itunes & the app store, it tells me "this appleid has not used before. please review your info" so i do, and it doesn't log me in afterwards. Contacted apple and they were useless as always. Have tried everything on this forum, any other suggestions?

I am having the same issue. Has anyone found a fix for this yet?

Every time it asks for verification, it's like all my address information, plus my card security code, has been purged from the system, and I have to re-enter it.

ATTEMPTED FIXES:

- I signed out of my Apple ID on all devices (2x Macs, 1x iPad, 1x iPhone) and re-signed back in on all of them, that did not solve it. Within 24 hours, it was asking for verification again.

- I tried dissassociating all devices and computers from my Apple ID, changed the password, and re-logged back in on each device. Yet within 24 hours, it's asking me to verify my payment information yet again.

- I tried changing to a different credit card, still no luck. Same issue continues within 24 hours.

- I tried changing to a different credit card that had a different billing address, still no luck. Same issue continues within 24 hours.

This is SO FRUSTRATING and I am at a loss for what to do. Apple's Support has been useless so far. Every time I try to make a Genius Bar appointment, they tell me to re-enter the information and then of course it works, and despite me trying to explain to them that of course it works now, but just wait until tomorrow, it will be asking for it again, they just give me the same canned responses and treat me like I'm technologically-challenged or something.

Anyone figured out what's going on?

I Had the same problem.... Turns out, they were trying to charge me charges for in-app purchases that were denied by my debit card. (I only keep a small amount on that card for iTunes/App Store) For whatever reason, they do not immediately charge your credit/debit card when you make an in app purchase... Usually there are two or three at a time charged. However, as you've been credited for in app purchases that are denied by your card, you get this message, which then prevents you from doing any updating or downloading until you give them a payment method that has $$ available to pay the past balance. It's frustrating... If they'd run the charges immediately they'd not have this issue and we'd not get frustrated.....

Make sure you are using a card that is not expired. Also, make sure you are typing in the CCV code correctly.

Go into iTunes on your Computer and click on your name, then on Account Info

Click on Edit Payment Type and make sure that you type in the correct CCV code

After you have done this, on your iPad, sign out of the iTunes & App Store, and then back in again: Settings>iTunes & App Store, click on your ID, then sign out, then sign back in again.

  1. On the Home screen, tap Settings.
  2. Tap iTunes & App Store.
  3. Tap your Apple ID.
  4. Tap View Apple ID. You might need to sign in.
    User uploaded file
  5. Tap Payment Information. If you're using Family Sharing, you might not see Payment Information. Tap Family Sharing to see your family organizer's Apple ID.
  6. Change or remove your information. To remove your payment method, select None.
See what to do if you don't see None or can't select it.
    User uploaded file
  7. Tap Done.

After you change your payment information, the iTunes Store places a temporary authorization hold on your credit card to verify your updated account information.

I am having the same problem. Family organizer has verified payment information for the account, but the iPad wont verify. The iPad is my daughter's and we just replaced and restored it, but we cannot get it to accept the verification and we can no longer purchase apps for her iPad. We literally have tens of thousands of dollars invested in Apple products, movies and apps. And now apple has slammed the door on us purchasing any more. Can you imagine any other company treating a good paying customer the same way??? Please tell me apple cares enough to fix this.

There are normally some hoops you can jump through as you create your iTunes account that workaround the need for a card, otherwise once the account is set up iTunes may still expect you to provide one, which you can subsequently remove. If you don't have or want to use a credit card at this time you can try this method...

  1. Enable the menu bar if needed with Ctrl+B (Applies to Windows only)
  2. Sign out of the iTunes Store from the Store item on the menu bar
  3. Go to iTunes Store home page
  4. Go to Quick Links > Redeem
  5. Sign in with your Apple ID
  6. Go through the screens, accepting the EULA, etc. You should arrive at a Review Payment screen where one of the options is None - select this and continue. You shouldn't actually need to redeem a new voucher/card.

It is worth noting that one of the functions of the registration is to prove you have a valid billing address in the region whose store you are trying to use.
