All my reminders have disappeared - how can I retrieve them?

I use the reminders app across 2 iMacs, an iPhone and an iPad. Everything has always synced beautifully, until now: all my personal reminders have disappeared (and there were a lot of them). On my home iMac, iPhone and iPad, the reminder icon shows a red circle with '3' in it. When I go to the app, those 3 reminders are tasks from my Outlook Exchange calendar. On my work iMac, the reminder icon shows a red circle with '52' in it - that's roughly the correct number of uncompleted reminders in my list. But when I go to the application, they're not there - all I can see are the 3 Exchange tasks. So where have they gone?? The work iMac is suggesting that they still exist... somewhere. If I log directly into my iCloud account, there's still no sign of them.

This is really helpful! I solved the problem in a similar way. My reminders all disappeared after I update the system on my MacBook Air. I saw this post and I tried to create several new fake lists, and suddenly some of the content came back! Then I just delete the test list and create more with a similar name. Like if I delete "Test 1" and "Test 2", I will create "Test" and "Test 2", sometimes the "Test 1" list will magically pop up, and more lists got fixed. I don't know why this works, but I found back all of my reminders.

My experience was a little difference, so what I did differently may or may not have helped.

I turned my Reminders off and on.

I turned off my calendar, but it didn't help. At least I didn't see an immediate effect on my Reminders.

There was an immediate effect on my Calendar for the account I turned off, iCloud. After turning it off and on, everything was wiped. I do not have auto-backup to iCloud, so I was a little worried. It was no big deal for me, compared to the Reminders, so I was still worried about the Reminders. Anyway, it came back after I fixed the Reminders, according to LSHAW3457. Thanks a lot towards him or her.

After I switched the Reminders, I did what that user said, and it worked. As well as creating a "Reminders" list, to create the one that was missing. My situation wasn't exactly the same. I only had a "Scheduled" list, which isn't technically a list that can be edited.

All my reminders have disappeared - how can I retrieve them?
