Sounds like the right way to go TJBUSMC1973, (thank you for your service- mine was 1969) for sure. I wasn't sure about the damage and stolen protection from AppleCare+.

Save an extra few bucks and buy a 5S from Apple. IMO, iPhone and Ebay do not make a good couple.

Well I was thinking I'd just get the 5c since it has the better camera, ios7 and a slightly longer-lasting battery, and buying the 5s would not save me money, it costs $100 more. I can't see why I would need the 5s over the 5c at this point, but maybe I'll take a second look. Thanks paulcb.

Personally, I'd wait a few months to see how the new devices shake out. Lurk around here for any serious issues.
You know that's a very good point. Hold off for a couple of months. Let them get the software bugs cleared up, good advice. Darn and I was ready to jump. Now if we could just get their share price back up again.
