isight not recognized in Skype after 10.8.5 upgrade

Using the terminal what permissions should this plugin be showing or pid, etc. Should we check this before the install? Just copying it in by dragging, shouldn't we be a super user for this?

It can be fixed by replacing the new camera plugin by old. I had same problem but its working fine now

Thanks so much I finally got it to work. Instead of just deleting the old applecamera.plugin and dragging the new one in, I had to drag the new one in while the old one was still there and hit "replace." This time it finally works.

Wow. Just spent an hour or two thinking this was something about migrating from an older computer before finally finding this thread. Thanks!

Well strangely it did not work for me.

After I donwgraded to the old version I lost my audio to, so reverted back and now audio is wroking again

Will Apple fix this or is it Apple policy to undermine Skype and Google hangouts? Surely its no coincidence?

I cannot find the MacIntosh HDD folder in my Library folder. Help?

Furthermore, I can't find the CoreMedia folder. I have a folder called Media that is empty.

Hey - if you open finder - at the menu at the top of the screen you see "go" if you click on that, then go to
'computer' in that folder you will see one that says "HDD" click on that and you will see 'library' click into that and you will then find the folder that is described above.

I had to play around for a while and lost camera with facetime for a bit too . but now it is all working

Now I am having trouble "replacing" the old plugin with the new plugin. I have dragged both into the DAL plugin folder, but I cannot seem to find a way to hit "replace," as has been described above. I can only move the old plugin to the trash, and leave the new one there, but this did not solve the problem after restarting.

I am having the same issue. How did you discover hitting "replace?" Where is that option? I can only manage dragging the new plugin to the DAL folder, and then moving the old one to the trash, but this doesn't work as you said.
