power/sleep issues after upgrading to 10.8.5

mac mini

2.6 GHz intel core i7

512 SSD

16 GB RAM

everything was working beautifully for quite a long time, in fact, i've never had any issues at all. upgraded to 10.8.5 build 12F37 last night and now the computer won't wake from sleep. it has to be forced off and then restarted in order to get it to "come back".

reset the PRAM and the SMC, i'm hoping that resolves the issue, but i'd love to hear if anyone else is having the same issue and how they solved it.

thanks!

Hello,

As of today and despite updating yesterday evening, I still have the issue after my Mac slept overnight. Is it the same for you ?

When it wakes up, the background is faded in light grey and a load bar appears. When the load bar is up 100%, the login screen shows up but then by moving the cursot it is frozen for 30s before I can start entering my password.

my issue is resolved. the computer is now waking from sleep normally after running the latest update. @julien156, have you tried deleting the sleep image? it may be corrupt.

if you do shift/command/g and then type in /Var, you'll find the sleep image in the vm folder. just delete it. your system will create a new one. i would also delete everything from the cache folder in your user library as well and then reboot, run the combo update once more for good measure and make sure you run software update so that you're sure you've got them all.

keep us posted. i hope this resolves it for you!

Hi everyone

So I tried everything said in this post, but I'm still having some issues with my system.
So reinstalling Combo Update 10.8.5, restarting on Safe Mode.

Reverting to backup didn't fix the issue, instead crashed my system once I started working.

Everytime I restart my system, the iSight on my Thunderbold, the Audio (mic and speakers) as well as the USB ports on the back doesn't work. I have to disconnect the screen and reconnect it for it to work.

Anyone has a fix on that?

Thanks
