Wake from sleep in 10.8.5
It's no longer instant-on. It's pretty **** slow 😟.
Anybody else experiencing this?

Software is up to date - but thanks for the suggestion.

I also experienced resolution with the 10.8.5 update - but now that I've installed Mavericks, the same issue is back again. V E R Y S L O W to wake up from sleep overnight. Hopefully, a point release will be coming that addresses the issue once again. :-\
I've upgraded to Mavericks, and the problem hasn't returned here. It's snappy as can be.
I'd suggest filing a bug report with Apple.
I did a Restore Defaults on the Energy Saver under System Preferences and that solved my problem. Now it wakes right up no matter how long it's been asleep.
Upgrade to 10.9 Mavericks solved this problem for me
Tried the Restore Defaults, but it appears that my settings were already the default ones. I checked the box for "Power Nap" and am going to see if that makes any difference, but I never had to do that before. If that doesn't work, I'll try the Restore Defaults again and we'll see if that makes any difference.
Paulus - my issues were fixed with the latest ML point release, but when I upgraded to Mavericks, the problem recurred for me.
Well, the first half of this (checking "Power Nap") didn't do a thing. Still took longer than usual to awake from sleep this morning. I've clicked on "Restore Defaults" (which unchecked "Power Nap") and I'll see if that change resets things.
I tried all sorts of fixes for my "reboot from sleep problem". Today I reset my power options to default as suggested here and what do you know the problem is gone! My machine sleeps instantly and wakes instantly. Thankyou to whoever figured this out.
Ironically, Apple Support kept telling me it wouldn't make a difference. I did the reset anyways and VOILA, problem solved. They were ready to have me return the computer for a new one.
Resetting the power setting defaults didn't help my situation. Still taking a long time to wake from sleep overnight. Argh. :-\
Ditto here - Mavericks update and both sleep and wake are working fine now.
After trying Combo update and several variuous resets, I simply did a reinstall of the OS without wiping the disk (thus preserving user files) that has solved the entire " will not wakeup" problem... Took all of 30 minutes on my Air and used Rescue disk and Rescue Disk Asst. via a 32GB USB drive.. Eveything working great now.. fast startups, shutdowns, no screen saver lockups or refuslas to wake from sleeps..
