To register for Apple Service Certification Exams you need:

  • Your Tech ID. (To get one go to the Certifications website)
  • Method of payment: VISA, MasterCard, AMEX, or purchase order*

* Please see the Frequently Asked Questions below for full explanation regarding when you may register using purchase orders.

You are required to have an Apple Tech ID number before registering for an exam. You can apply for a Tech ID by following the instructions at the Apple Certifications website. Provide this Tech ID when registering at an Apple-Authorized Training Center or when registering online with Pearson VUE. The exam registration process is described in Accessing Pearson VUE Service Exams (HT5718).

I have a same problem. I'd like to do ACMT tests but I can't get tech ID. At first when reaching the Certifications website I got a message "Access for your type of Apple ID is not supported" and after refreshing "Global Certifications Exchange is currently unavailable. We are working to resolve as soon as possible. Please try again later".

I have tried this with multiple computers and networks without success so I think the issue is related with my Apple ID.

Does anybody know who might help me with this?

So I am trying to get my Tech ID from apple via ( http://certifications.apple.com/ ) Surprise I get this message... "Access for your type of Apple ID is not supported." I email Apple via ( svc.trng@apple.com ) keep in mind this address is the escalated email account for Tech ID issue. I receive a similar response as I did earlier basically telling me to use a different email address to generate a Tech ID.. Genius why didn't I think of that oh wait thats right I cannot because It is work related and needs to be associated with my work email. I politely email them explaining why this will not work. Reply I get The best we can suggest is to have your company give you a new email address and create a new tech ID that way. Are you kidding me Apple companies don't hand new email address out to there employees because you have major glitches on your end. I am ACMT certified but have no way of linking it to my companies work GSX account what a joke.
