After updating an app (Khan Academy). iTunes is stuff on processing the file. Anyone know how to get this update to finish?
Mac OS X (10.6.5)
Worked for me too
gcoat's fix worked for me, but only after 3 tries on OS X. Not sure if this is a permanent fix, but I hope so.
Same issue- tried updating all apps as usual, started fine, then stopped with a bunch left to go, 3 show processing file, but never go past that point. Tried quiting iTunes, but it won't so I force quit it, then tried one app only, but it got stuck as well.
The only thing I did differently is I had a "new" iPad 2 teathered at the time all the trouble started, and was updating its software as well. Now it is not connected, iTunes restarted, but problem persists. Keep deleting the downlaods temp file as well.
Also, just noticed that all songs in all playlists, including Music (main one) do not appear (they look empty!)- numbers show counts, Control clicking on "3 lines" at top of iTunes at least lets me click on next song & music plays fine, but as far as iTunes 11 which was previously just a poor substitute for iTunes 10 is now 95% dead in the water.
MacPro, OS 10.6.8, iTunes 11.1.3.
I signed out of iTunes and logged back in. Apps resumed updating normally.
hammerlee's solution worked for me as well. I had previously tried looking in the downloads folder but there was nothing there. Logging out of iTunes and logging back in did the trick and the two apps that were previously stuck downloaded and processed fine.
What was strange was that I was updating six apps at once, it was just the two that had issues.
i tried hammerlee's solution and it worked for me too. those apps that were stuck previously, i'm able to download completely. however, there are still some that are stuck and i did a log out and log in again... still stuck.
i really don't know what's going on here. why isn't there any Apple support staff responding to this issues?
I've had the same issue over the last couple of days on 10.8.5 and iTunes 11.1.3. After 1 to 3 files get stuck as "Processing file", then I have to force quit to close iTunes. Then after I delete the folders in the "Download" folder, then some apps uppdate, but others get stuck again. Now after I deleted the list.plist file as well, the last app updated. We'll see what happens the next time when I have more updates are available.
This is very bad though as I always hate to force quit iTunes. I'm scared that my library may become corrupt and I will lose playlists, ratings and the "date Added" field. I have put so much time and effort into my 2TB library over the past 10 years that I don't even want to think about losing the metadata. in it.
I got 3 apps that are stuck on processing after runing an update. I've forced quit but this keeps happening. Updating one at time also doesn't seem to work after force quiting.
I turned off "Allow simultaneous downloads" and now it is working for me. I'm on an iMac 27" system, upgraded to Mavericks.
Thanks gcoat, worked for me too...
I suspect with Mavericks, the directory structure for iTunes has changed a bit.
The correct file path for OSX Mavericks is:
~/Music/iTunes/Mobile Applications/Downloads/
Deleting all the folders in this directory fixes the problem, but it seems to recur.
I tried everything, nothing fixes the problem: deleted download file in downlod folder, turned off simmultanious downloads, etc. I think the problem is in iCloud because the song will play in iTunes, but doesn't live in my iTunes music folder yet. Nothing works except to force quit iTunes, which I HATE to do. I ended up sending email to itunes support.
iTunes 11.1.3 is the problem. Sometimes, it gets stuck processing files (Apps, songs, etc.) and i must force quit. It is doing this on Mac, Windows 7 and windows 8 while buying an album, redownloading an album, updating many apps. iTunes store on iPad and iPhone works correctly, then it is not a server problem.
I got problem resolved by sending email to Apple, which was responded to within minutes. The girl resent the download, and solved by running the "Check for Available Downloads" and the suck one downloaded fine. I did have to force quite iTunes prior just to clear out the stuck download.
Just emailed them, still waiting. I've uploaded 2 versions more than 24 hours ago and both are still processing. Still need to get review for test flight so I can test them. Such crap
