iOS 7 Calendar List View Gone?

Just updated to iOS 7 and it looks like List View in Calendar is gone? AAACCCK! With multiple shared calendars enabled (my wife's, kids school events etc.) I'm finding it very hard to see what my day(s) look like without scrolling like crazy through graphical representations of events. I'm accustomed to just viewing the list and scanning by color of events (for example my work calendar is green).

Am I missing a setting somewhere, or is this a casualty of the redesign? I'm hoping the former, but if it's the latter I'm about to cry!

Tempo does look good, got the list view I like so much back! Plus adds some other functionality. And free! Thanks for the reference. I sort of solved the icon date issue by moving the iOS calendar icon to the top of my home page and put Tempo in the bar, so I can still see the date at one

I would, however, wish we could get the original calendar functionality back. I'm about done trying out alternative apps for other functions, as well, and can't afford the time or money to keep trying to fix Apple's mess. For now I'm going to try to just live with what I've got and wait and see what happens next.

With fingers crossed.

Getting to a list view by clicking the magnifying glass is quite unacceptable.

When I open my calendar, I do not want to see when I DON'T have anything to do, folks. I JUST want to see when something IS COMING UP!

Is that news?

Am I the only one who does not go to a calendar application to see that there is a 3pm, a 3:30pm, a 4pm, a 4:30 pm.... to fill my screen with this reminder of the passage of time - EVEN THOUGH I HAVE NOTHING SCHEDULED? Only to have to scroll 14 pages ahead to be reminded that my hair appt is coming up?

The only thing that should ever show up in a calendar is STUFF I HAVE TO DO.

That's what it's for, Apple.

Notifications Center? Yes - I love that quick glance at my calendar - well, at the next 2 hours of my calendar -of empty blanks. Nevermind that I looked at it at 2, and DIDN'T see the appointment I had coming up at 5 - not quite enough screen for all the empty time between 2 and 5!

PLEASE. Can someone with a schedule and even some rudimentary interface design help you with your calendar application? Why is this a CONSTANT uphill battle? I would be happy to donate my time.

I'll tell you why - integration.

I want my calendar to remind me at a glance - on an Apple phone that's the Notification Center (lock screen). That Notification Center does not display a list view of the things I have coming up on my calendar, either - and it sure won't make it any better if I use Tempo or any of the thousand other, better calendar listing apps. Yes, I agree those will help when I want to open my phone, open my calendar app, and view my upcoming appointments.

I have "upgraded" to a 5s with ios7, but EAGERLY await a jailbreak because there are actually useful apps that put a clean, tidy list of all of my upcoming calendar events on my lock screen ("lockinfo" is my longstanding favorite). That is what I used for years (missing that dearly with this "upgrade"), and I just cannot understand how anyone would ever look at/design this calendar application and integration with the Notfication Center and say "Ready for prime time!".

As if people want to glance at thier phone screen and be helpfully reminded that there is a 2pm, a 2:30pm, a 3pm, a 3:30pm, a 4pm... (no, not with anything scheduled - just blanks!) - oh - did you forget that 4:30 Appointment? So sorry - not quite enough screen to get down to that one, what with all the empty blanks we needed to list, first!

This new calendar app is a disaster. I loved the old one, I could see my daily events as a simple list and quickly scan through the week. Now I have to scroll through vast tracts of blank space to find out what's scheduled and I'm surprised I haven't missed any appointments yet. I don't know what OCD programmers thought that a minute-by-minute breakdown of the day should be the permanent default view but they really messed things up. I should probably just download a third party app but one of the main reasons why I've purchased Apple products is that I believed that the native apps would just work. Perhaps the most frustrating part of all this is that I read a thread on a forum from back in July where beta testers were voicing these same concerns about the calendar app and apparently nothing was done about it. Come on Apple, fix this!

I was excited an could wait to download apples newest ios to my iphone only to be completely disappointed with the new calendar. I work shifts and have shared calendars I find the new calendar isn't user friendly and would much prefer to user the older one which severed all my needs and more. It sounds rediculous that I'm talking about a calendar in this way but my life revolves around being at the right place at the right time.

Please apple give me the option to continuing to benefit from ios7 but with an option to use the old calendar. I have download several calendar apps which none have been as good as the old one but all have been visually better than the new.

Very frustrating. The new monthly view with a dot every day is useless, and list view without the month takes it out of context, making it easier to lose track of which day you're actually looking at. Fine points about the App Store apps, but they're just not fully integrated. I don't have a problem with most of the changes if they just bring back the month view coupled with the list view, I used that view daily and came to rely on it. This isn't a slight aesthetic change, it's a significant reduction in utility without the month+list view.

When I in blind faith downloaded the IOS7 my reaction was pretty much like the 4year old crying on YouTube. What's wrong with it? EVERYTHING!!! I truly dislike this system and consider it a mega step back. All of this phasing in and out of view which takes ages... Anyway - to stick to this particular thread...

In regards to the entries in calendar which we under the IOS6 system had the choice to set up either as calender/work/home/reminder - I had very detailed entries set up as reminders - i.e. events which were an option rather than a firm appointment (which I mark as calendar/work) but which I need to work around when I set up firm appointments and need to see at a glance.

Daily yoga classes, dance classes, social events like exhibitions etc - all containing very detailed information incl. street addresses, teachers names etc and many of them as repeating daily/weekly/monthly events into the future.

Well - Apple AKA BIG BROTHER decides to do away with reminders inIOS& ical and now all my reminders are nowhere to be found - completely gone from my macbook, iphone4 and my ipad4. I've spent hours on the helpline to apple and it takes ages even to get them to understand what the problem is and they have not got an explantion as to how I can get the entries back.

They simply need to fix this issue urgently. Simply add the reminders back to the tickbox list as an option.

Why on earth should it be necessary to search for a suitable app in the app store to have a concise overview in the ical and in any event an app will not get back the ical reminders which were set up in IOS6.

Apple has taken the liberty to delete personal records without giving us an option to get them back - huge infringement on ones personal life!

I'm with you all the way kcdot. Integration and syncronisation!

I'm looking at an even more blank calender right now - all the entries which I had set up as reminders (showing in orange colour next to work appointments (green colour) and personal appointments (blue colour) have been deleted by the new system and noone can explain how I can get them back!

Microsoft OUTLOOK wins heads down - it's much easier also in Mail. It's like Apple just wants to be hip and gimmicky - what about simply being smart and functional. Anyway - I want my reminders back so somebody better do something.
