IOS 7 wallpaper resizing will not shrink photo to fit screen...

After update, wallpaper stretchs larger than image. Unable to resize smaller to fit screen. My photo only measures 24k @ 261x231 and is HUGE; bigger than the screen can accommodatem (shrink). Cannot resize smaller to fit screen. Any ideas/suggestions? I have tried resizing my photo (smaller crop in size and dimensions) and photos render too large for screen. Cannot resize smaller to fit. I know I am repeating myself. Just to be clear. Am I doing something incorrectly in IOS 7? Any ideas/suggestions or similar problems solving input would be appreciated.

No true Apple user cares about work arounds. We are talking here about errors in Apple programming that has been there simce the release of iOS 7.0, years ago.

This is about the disconnect at Apple with their own programming.

I have the same problem, can't resize wallpaper on iPad 2 on IOS7.

As a matter of interest, if you want kill a background app (prolongs battery time), put your finger on the mini-page image and flick up. The little icons at the bottom of the screen no longer wobble when you hold on them.

Apart from the odd bug, I like the new lok and feel of IOS7. Apple seem to have avoided microsoft's win8 stupidity.

I'm having same issue as all of you here. I've also tried the "suggestions" to no avail. I concur completely with BucknB in that it's a bug, it should be fixed ASAP, and all the changes Apple has implemented with this new iOS now makes the iPhone look like the Windows 8 PC. Some of the new features I like, but the look n' feel of the interface appears juvenile. Thanks Apple for an interface developed by Toy R Us! 😠

After hours of playing around with lots of trail and error I have a workaround.

I tried the turning off of the "reduce motion" option and that only made things worse. I was able to make the images smaller on the lock screen with this turned on.

I tried adding pixels to the image and that had zero effect.

In the end, I followed the advice of an earlier poster and downloaded InstaSize (iphone app). After I wrote my contact info on the picture with DoodleBuddy I opened the picture in InstaSize and reduced the image overall. Once that was done I shared it with the gallery, which saved it to the camera roll. From here I was able to set the picture as the lock screen image. It took a few tries to get the correct size in InstaSize, but it works!

I'm so not impressed with ios 7. Everything is harder to read, navigate, and it seems fluff takes up more space on the screen. The contrasting colors they picked for text to background are harder to read, especially on the fly. The text messages are annoying looking. I turned on the bold text just to read the app names! Grrr to Apple, I was so excited until I actually got to look at it myself.

I just went to my photos and clicked on the one that I wanted to use. I then tapped on the picture again to get all the other wording out of it and just leave me with black borders on the top and bottom (idk if that makes sense) then I took a screenshot and it was the perfect size to set into my wallpaper without cutting anything out.

It's a hassle but hey, it works

🙂

What I did was I took a screenshot of a picture I liked off of my Facebook app. The picture turns out just like the old version with the black bars across the bottom and top!! If you want to zoom in, you can!! I'm happy with it now!! It will have to do until Apple realizes that no one likes this feature and changes it back! That's my only advice for everyone!

That actually worked quite well... Great thinking outside the box! I downloaded Resize Image, saved it to dimensions of 1165x1567, put a black frame around it and when I did the screenshot, it gave me a great black border top and bottom that makes the icons really stand out well.

Thank you!

Hi, i finally found a solution, if you dont want your photo to be cropped just take a screenshot of the photo where it is in the photo gallery, and than set it, Let me know if this doesn't work.
