IOS 7 wallpaper resizing will not shrink photo to fit screen...

After update, wallpaper stretchs larger than image. Unable to resize smaller to fit screen. My photo only measures 24k @ 261x231 and is HUGE; bigger than the screen can accommodatem (shrink). Cannot resize smaller to fit screen. Any ideas/suggestions? I have tried resizing my photo (smaller crop in size and dimensions) and photos render too large for screen. Cannot resize smaller to fit. I know I am repeating myself. Just to be clear. Am I doing something incorrectly in IOS 7? Any ideas/suggestions or similar problems solving input would be appreciated.

Here I am again, reading all the updates and I see AppleLono commenting again. I am pretty beat up about discussing this issue. I am feeling like Apple took away something that I used regularly. Attempts to being heard seem to be falling on deaf ears and when speaking with AppleCare and the Genius's, I get the 'I know the issue and I am choosing to stick my head in the ground/drink the punch and believe this all was intended in the OS.

APPLE, I AM PLEADING, PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE (or allow us to revert to a prior version of your iOS).

Hi yes this is a bit or an irritation. I downloaded the excellent AutoDesk PixlrExpress+ as its free and has some great FX. It also allows you to save the image in different size. I have tried many combinations but always have the same issue that the picture is too large and can not be scaled correctly using the Apple wallpaper way.

Does anyone know the exact size it should be for landscape view?

Apple will not change this behaviour, because it is not a bug to them.

This is necessary in order for the prallax effect, like mentioned a couple of times here.

So there are two options:

1) live with it and be mad at apple

2) Use the way Alexiuss suggested. The easiest way to do this is to use an app like Wallpaper Fix:

Wallpaper Fix didn't work for me - waste of money

InstaFix works fine as long as the resolution of the picture to be fixed is the same size as the screen resolution

There are now 3 wallpaper screens that need fixing by Apple The new pass code screen is an ugly muddy blur behind the numerical code box It would be nice to have a picture there as well that resized to fit screen like the good old days of IOS 6 !

Now that I have my wallpapers sorted with InstaFix I get so irritated that I can't see them properly because of the huge ugly opaque task bar which takes up too much of the screen

Sigh.....

Having tried and used both apps I found InstaFix did the job for me. With 1 simple click it makes a black border around my pictures and when I set them as my wallpaper they are all perfectly centred on my home screen and not zoomed. I use my iPad mini in landscape mode so I confess I haven't tried the app with my iPad in portrait mode

The app works the best if the pictures are initially the same resolution as the ipad screen in my case for the ipad mini 1024 x 768 pixels

Wallpaper Fix was very fiddly and time consuming to use and frankly didn't do the job of resizing properly so I am not interested in using it anymore

BLW I am not a app developer and have not financial interest in InstaFix. I just wish Apple would listen to a growing list of very frustrated customers who are now seriously considering jumping ship because their genuine concerns about a faulty product are not being taken seriously
