IOS 7 wallpaper resizing will not shrink photo to fit screen...

After update, wallpaper stretchs larger than image. Unable to resize smaller to fit screen. My photo only measures 24k @ 261x231 and is HUGE; bigger than the screen can accommodatem (shrink). Cannot resize smaller to fit screen. Any ideas/suggestions? I have tried resizing my photo (smaller crop in size and dimensions) and photos render too large for screen. Cannot resize smaller to fit. I know I am repeating myself. Just to be clear. Am I doing something incorrectly in IOS 7? Any ideas/suggestions or similar problems solving input would be appreciated.

No true Apple user cares about work arounds. We are talking here about errors in Apple programming that has been there simce the release of iOS 7.0, years ago.

This is about the disconnect at Apple with their own programming.

I have tried all the suggestions and the only one that seemed to work for me was downloading instapic and resizing photo. I really hope apple fixes this. Being able to fit the entire photo was something that I really liked. My android did the same thing enlarge the photo and I could never set a picture I liked. Not too impressed with ios7 I feel that it completely changed its look and doesn't really set itself apart anymore. I really hope this is a bug and apple changes it ASAP !!

I found a way if you want to make your photo fit better on your screen with IOS7. First go to picture in your album pinch the photo till you zoom out fully and there is the black box above and below. After you have done this then screen shot the picture , it will save the picture to thy aspect and when you select the picture to used as a wallpaper it should fit better.. I hope this helps out for someone.

this is not a bug. they did it intentionally

SOLUTION is:

you will have to edit the image a bit to fit it perfectly,

the end to end images like landscape sceneries are not best for this, select photos with single focus image,

like, a sunset in the horizon, or a photo of your pet dog. Conditions are,

1.the image has to be high resolution (minimum 2 Mpix for ipad 2, 4 Mpix for more later models) to reserve the clarity

2.the subject has to be pretty small in the photograph, and almost in the center, a bit upward would be the best

now select it as your wallpaper, you can crop on the subject.

if there is a snapshot of a public place, and you want to show the person you have to keep as wallpaper, zoom on them, you can use selective focus to remove background (Picassa a freeware provides that). Well the effort you will have to put into to find out the ideal wallpaper, is worthwhile with the beautifu parallax.

End to end photographs are not suited... atleast not until the next update.

I spoke to a technician last night and was elevated to a Senior Technician. She was very polite and seemed concerned that I wasn't happy. But when she tried to do the same thing, she also became frustrated.

She said the best way to get this resolved is if we all go to the product feedback and leave comments there they we want it fixed.

I dont't think they made it intentionally.

It clearly looks like a bug which I hope Apple will IMMEDIATELY fix.

I will not install new applications nor try elaborate workarounds to have my iOS make its job.

I know that can be considered a "minor bug", but it's a very frustrating one, because it impacts on something you have always in front on your eyes when you use iPad/iPhone.

I just left my feeedback in the feedback page, and hope that the bug will be fixed in no more than a couple of days.

By the way, I'm not THAT impressed by this new iOS. It's too graphically similar to Android.

ℹ Confirm this "work around" from webedc. This worked as long as when you load the photo into Instasize and shirnk as much as possible, then save to your Gallery. When you choose this resized photo from teh gallery for wallpaper, you can tweak it to fit the screen. Evidently the wallpaper sizing function only works in "expand" mode and not shrink mode. 🙂

IOS 7 wallpaper resizing will not shrink photo to fit screen...
