iTunes Match issues on iOS 7

I have been using iOS 7 since the release of the GM. Overall, I love it - however with the music app, specifically with iTunes Match I am very dissapointed as the usability, for me has gone quite backwards.

Firstly, I have some artists in my collection with vast ammounts of albums (Grateful Dead, Phish, etc). With iOS 6, accessing those artist's albums was instantaneous. In iOS 7, it takes approximately 10-15 seconds from the time I tap the artist to being able to view the albums. When trying to return to the Artists tab, it will also hang for at least 10 seconds.

Second, once within the albums of a particular artist, there is no longer the alphabetical slider along the side which allows me to quickly scrub through the albums. When there are a lot of albums, scrolling manually through every album (and song) is quite tedious. I honestly can't believe how much of a step back this is. Albums no longer are listed alphabetically, now they are listed based on release date.

These issues have me wihing I coud go back to iOS 6, even though the rest of the new interface is great. I can't believe how much worse the music app is now. I can't believe no one at Apple has a music library containing artists with large discographies.

If there isn't a fix to these issues, I will have to cancel my iTunes Match subscription because it is simply too frustrating waiting for things to load and not being able to browse albums efficiently.

If anyone is aware of a fix, or is also frustrated by these issues, please let me know.

Something is improving! I was about ready to do the RESET ALL SETTINGS. My iPhone popped up a dialog to input my iCloud password (why? since it already had it), so I did that, and went into Music, and BAM! the "Loading iTunes Match..." came up but with a blue progress bar! In a few seconds it had finished.

All my artists are there, mostly with no artwork, but I know from past experience that the artwork will slowly start to add back in.

So, either I got lucky, or Apple did something and with my iPhone prompting me for my iCloud password, it started working.

Now to spend some time with it. And, check my iPad to see if it behaves the same.

UPDATE: I woke up my iPad and it's working, too. My whole library is there and I can play cloud-based songs (which I could not do before). YAY!

I was having all the same issues, and within the last 10 or so minutes, both went through the blue progress bar and synced... though the playlists aren't staying updated, and only a tiny bit of the album art is synced... hopefully more will fill in.

I'm 99% sure this is something with Apple's servers and not on our phones/ipads/ipods.

My MacBook Pro and Windows desktop are both updating now, as in no lightening bolt through the cloud.

Also, for anyone who had Match functioning on a device today and were worried about the playcounts syncing, the update my iPhone did around 815am seemed to proprogate and sync with the cloud library just fine. Will have to see what happens later when it updates again and tomorrow when it updates again in the morning.

I have been having the same issues since doing the update to iOS 7 last night. I even logged out of iTunes Match and tried to stream or redownload my previous purchases from the music store (which didn't work).

I felt it might have had something to do with Apple servers getting pwnd today.

I got home, opened iTunes on my Mac, went to the Store Menu, and hit "Update iTunes Match". After iTunes did its thing, I tried again on my phone and it suddenly started working.

With iTunes updating yesterday, many peoples iTunes Match librarys may need to be updated to push the right info to the servers to be used with iOS 7. Just my thought. Than again, maybe the servers are finally clearing up a bit and it was just a timing coincedance?

I don't believe it is server traffic subsiding as it seems, all of the sudden, lots are people starting reporting it suddenly started working.

And now, it's almost working perfectly on my i-devices and my PC.

Thank you, Apple techs.

I've been lurking on this thread all day. How's this for weird. I just disabled iTM on my iPhone 5 (turned it off in settings) went back into Music and my albums and artists showed up with album art. When I go in and enable it, and go back to Music, I get the "Loading iTunes Match..." and the non-functional progress bar. I've restarted my iPhone and the same thing. I feel like this is progress ⚠ so I'm going to keep it enabled for another couple of hours and report if it works. FYI.

That's about as far as I have gotten the last 24 hours. I turned off iTunes Match, all of my previous iTunes music purchases showed up, but I couldn't even play them or download them. They would try to play, then move onto the next song. So I did the whole, Reset, Restart, etc.

I then tried updating iTunes Match from my source library and everything started working the moment it finished.

iTunes, Store Menu -> Update iTunes Match.
